....new show from the people behind "The Shield."

The show is about the renegade crew of a United States Navy Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, the fictional USS Colorado (SSBN-753), that defies an order to launch nuclear missiles towards Pakistan, a decision that cost the previous commanding officer his job when he refused to follow similar orders without an explanation or confirmation. When his replacement also questions the same orders, the vessel is fired upon without warning and the crew are left for dead. Realizing that they have been declared enemies of their own country, they set up camp on the fictional island of Sainte Marina, and declare themselves a sovereign nation with nuclear capability. At the same time, the crew must find a way to prove their innocence, find out who set them up, and hopefully return home.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Resort_(2012_TV_series)#cite_note-0

Featuring: Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman and Autumn Ressner.

sounds like an interesting premise but also like it could take too long to develop. Of course if it is good and I start watching then it will be cancelled (like Jericho)

It looks like it might be interesting show, and I'm going to at least try and watch it. I just hope they don't make it too over the top political, with some of the lines in the trailer I could see it happening. One of the lines I've seen was to the effect of "not following orders from a president I don't recognize as being legitimate" or something to that effect. It could easily turn into left bashing right show with a warmongering rightest president that didn't really win the election like Bush, or a right bashing left show with birthers bashing an illegitimate, illegal president like Obama. I could see this being too easy to take either one of those tracks and that would just make it crap.

From the people behind "The Shield" is really all I need to hear, to know I'll be checking it out.

Doesn't it come on at 8? Only crappy shows that cater to kids and geezers comes on at 8.

is the President a warmongering Neocon that bears a striking resemblance to Dick Cheney?

if it is, you know the direction this show is going to take

Time is 8EST

I'm looking forward to this starting and The Bing Bang Theory starting back up. Both are on at the same time though

Seems like it will run out of story line if it's about a sub gone rogue. How many different adventures can they have?

Damn. Somebody needs to invent something to remedy that. Maybe like a box that could let you watch one show while the other one is recording.

:p

Some of us don't have the money! I'm hoping that both CBS and ABC put their episodes online as well

I'm not 100% sold on it but it was good enough for me to tune in next week.

It obviously has potential but I could also see it going south real quick. It's on a short leash.

Questions:

1) why did the guy at the bar say he was responsible for all the war scenes they were showing on TV?

2) who were the people the guy that runs the island had in the back of the van?

Other notes:

Seems that D.C. would have some type of missile defense shield or at least be able to track that the missile was headed past DC. Also, nuking the ocean 200 miles out is still not safe.

Every show/movie with a sub has to have the obligatory explosion and flooding scene :)

Overall, I liked the show and will watch.
