This is Saban style slash and burn , scorched earth type of recruiting. However , one has to be careful to handle this well...hurting kids feelings and ticking off high school coaches wont build the future

I know, but I think the Berrys would be hurt/insulted by any talk of the twins as walk-ons, even if no slight was intended. It just doesn't seem like something UT or CBJ would even consider. JMO.

Please do not post who you think we should ask to look elsewhere, won't qualify because of grades, or will be expected to greyshirt. It is all speculation at this point.

Fair enough, but I don't think it would be an insult, and not unreasonable question to ask of a legacy athlete, whose family is financially capable, as both the Bates and Berry families are, when trying to find creative ways to "fit" under the limit. This would not be the 1st time. If the answer is no, then fine, they get the schollie.

100% agree with you. I coach at a high school in the upstate of SC and we have had a few kids that we felt weren't treated fairly in the recruiting process by certain schools, and it is safe to say that our coach will not be welcoming them in the near future.

Tough stuff in today's times.

It was said on tsr this morning that Butch wants his juco guys in Knoxville in the spring. Weatherd aparrently said on twitter he didn't know if he would be able to ee, which would insinuate that his spot might not be there if he can't. So if he is out Garrett would be a great replacement. I do think at this point some guys are going to get recruited over, sad but a good problem to have.

I'm thinking Malone might hinge on our QB situation. Could be wrong, though. UGA will have a new/young QB, too. Next year will be a rookie year for QBs in the SEC.

I think that is the coach's ego getting in the way. I understand feeling like a kid is being mistreated, and wanting to stand up for that, but by turning away big time programs, you are actually hurting the chances of more of your kids to do big things.

Wouldn't it be better to allow anyone to come to campus to see your players, and just advise them: "hey remember what Coach X did to so-and-so last year?"

Let the kids and families make their own decisions. Don't make the decisions for them.

Before its over 4 or 5 more will have a change of heart and we will replace them with True TENNESSEE FOOTBALL PLAYERS.

We need Malone. Not because we have to have a WR and not because he is the best recruit left that we are targeting. But it would be nice to help start the mindset that top TN HS players go to UT, period.

Dang I don't want to lose Weatherd unless we have a good player to take his place. Garret is a big long shot. I am still hopeful though.

This was pure speculation, was just passing it along. But yes he would be a big loss, but Garrett would be a great way to fill that void if it should happen. It just sucks that there are so many more players out there and we only have one spot left. I really honestly dont want to lose any of this class.

We add Reed probably, that think we get Malone, but I sure hope so. Don't believe we lose anyone. I know I'm probably alone in this belief, but that's just me. Flame away...

I want Malone and mosely strictly on the basis of locking up top talent in our own state. I like looking at the top 5 players in the state and 4 of them vols
