Last Spot

I think that is the coach's ego getting in the way. I understand feeling like a kid is being mistreated, and wanting to stand up for that, but by turning away big time programs, you are actually hurting the chances of more of your kids to do big things.

Wouldn't it be better to allow anyone to come to campus to see your players, and just advise them: "hey remember what Coach X did to so-and-so last year?"

Let the kids and families make their own decisions. Don't make the decisions for them.

I think what really ticks HS coaches off is when players get over-recruited but not told until very late in the deal . Then the kid ..unless he is a top of the food chain recruit ...gets stuck going to a school that was not even on their list or if he is a fringe guy ...gets demoted to mid-levels or even down a division.

Best not to leave them standing at the alter and make your changes early in the process. ..so the athlete has time to get on with his business.

High school coaches are 'Daddy' in their minds and dont stay very objective on stuff like that .

I get it. The process is brutal. It is brutal for both sides. How many times does a kid commit to a school, then change his mind later in the process when he gets a better deal elsewhere (I don't mean money, I mean playing time, better exposure, closer to home, whatever)?

High School coaches love the trip that it gives them being the gate-keeper. In that role, they possibly could be doing as much damage as the damage they are claiming is being done by these schools.

I doubt this will be the last spot.

Agree. Think we'll see up to 3 more takes after seeing a couple current commits move in a different direction. Regardless, I hope like hell, especially after seeing our current WR corps, that Josh Malone is a part of this class. We need him/a playmaker badly.

Probably is money too :ermm:

Please Read

before this thread gets to deep

Please do not post who you think we should ask to look elsewhere, won't qualify because of grades, or will be expected to greyshirt. It is all speculation at this point.

Recruits read these pages.

should be at the top of every thread IMO.

It probably should be a thread of it's own, and Freak should make it a sticky.

I don't think we would turn down guys like Garrett, Jackson, Malone, etc. just because there are "no more spots left".
