Were totally lopsided in our favor. Quit whining about it now if you didn’t care then.

What did that have to do with today's game and how it was officiated?

If I remember most of their penalties last session were pre snap which makes your post even weaker
Everyone is whining about penalties and how it changed the game. It’s just part of it. Same way as it was last year.

Pretty sure a decent amount of us were like “yep, we’re getting paid back for this next year” and here we are

Pre snap, post snap doesn’t make any difference the the OP. Bama was penalized last year and that’s just not fair according to some even if they committed the penalties.

Officiating is an easy scapegoat and there are always missed calls. That said, yesterday was particularly egregious and flagrant in the severity of missed offenses as well as amount of missed calls.

Called six penalties against Tennessee for 39 yards last year.

In light of the screenshots, are you saying their one penalty for five yards represents a fairly called game in your book?

And something like 9 were pre-snap penalties that aren’t debatable or subjective.
This is what I was going to say. Pre-snap penalties aren't the judgement calls fans gripe about. It's obvious when an o-lineman jumps before the snap, they have an illegal formation, delay of game, or if the defense jumps offsides..

Not holds or PI calls that were or were not called.

The pre-snap ones don't count - most of that was the crowd noise, IMO - I guess they had never heard that type of crowd before. There were 6 holding calls and 4 PI calls. They are upset about one PI call in particular. It was a PI. They had 3 PI calls in the LSU game - apparently, they did that often-last year. They also had 2 holding calls in the LSU game.

The reality is that the game was called fairly in terms of what they were doing. At the time both teams had equal chances to make the CFP so the normal basis wasn't in play.

Edited to say they probably would have had more PI calls last year but they couldn't keep up with our WRs to hold them.

Can you list the ones that weren't really penalties and shouldn't have been called? In addition to the ones called, the refs missed a couple of others (offensive pass interference on Bama that was called as defensive PI on Tennessee). Bama actually committed lots of penalties every game last year - especially on the road. The committed double-digit penalties at Texas, at Tennesse and at LSU.

This year Bama has done a little better - they only average 7 penalties per game. Well, they did, until only being flagged for one penalty last Saturday. They could have played a penalty free game - but the replays show otherwise.

We didn't lose because of penalties not called on Bama - but that certainly didn't help us. They might have still scored on their first drive in the second half but at least make them line up with a first and 20 after the blatanat hold on Baron on that TD pass.
