Alot of people will look at the upcoming year and say we are going to suck because of our 2012 record.

Why?

We clearly had the talent to beat FL and had them on the ropes so bad they went on fourth down in the middle of the field.

We were in the USC and GA game up to the very last minute.

And let me remind you....this was done with SAL as the DC and Dooley as the head coach. Let that sink in.

Now let's move to 2013. We will have the entire OL back. Bigger, meaner, stronger. And sick of losing!

We will have two RB's that have been under JG for two years now. Did you see how much they improved last year? Now they have 9 whole months to get even better.

And we will have Brian Randolph back and a few new faces at CB.

Plus! We won't have a moron for a DC. Watch the scoring drive USC had on fourth and 20 something and ask yourself if that would have happened with a real DC? I think no.

We thought we had the potential to win the East last year...and everyone is coming back except two WR's. Yes, losing CP hurts alot. But Hunter leaving doesnt really. He was never the same after his injury.

So guys. Have some hope for next year. We got an actual coach now. And recruits are looking and listening to us.

Head up. Be proud. We will come back.

Go Vols!

Actually, your secondary might be the worst in the SEC, and not simply because of coaching. Your LBs are in the back of the pack in the SEC as well.

No doubt, Tennessee had more talent than their record would indicate. But there are still some major issues that go beyond coaching.

I've seen a more talented pee wee defense than the one the Vols put on the field this past season. Other than that I agree with the improvement on the running game. Hopeful and curious to see how much changes!
GO VOLS :toast:

I won't say I agree with you, But that defense could possibly be the slowest defense ever!:banghead2:

NEOCON you are dead on! The Vols are coming back sooner than the negavols can post all their bad karma. Don't retreat, take the high ground and never look back! I believe 2013 champions, end of story. GBO!!!!

I agree. We need to fix the d backs, but if you look at our redzone stats, we did ok when there was no way for them to be out of position. We got way too fancy early on and everyone was confused. Simplify things and we'll look a whole lot better.

 I remember Bama fans at work saying the same thing this season about A&M before Bama choked against them.....coaching goes along way guy....like when Bama under Saban his first season beating a very talented Fulmer Vol's squad...don't kid yourself kid.

Tennessee has a 6 game stretch next season that would test any team. Please remind yourself of that from time to time. You will talk yourself into us having a 10-2 record next season and be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

Didn't Bama get their asses kicked by a Freshman QB?

So who knows. All we need is the right Freshman and we can beat them too.

Mr. Green come on down.

He still has issues coming to grips with the fact that Gainesville is more known for their I-75 rest stop than anything else.

J Hunter had 1000+ yards and 9 TDs. Claiming that replacing him won't be painful is a bit of a joke. That's one of the more productive WR years we've had in a long time.

Pre injury I would agree. The guy was a monster.

After injury not so much.

He had alot of crucial passes go through his hands that would have been 1st down or automatic TD's.

I wish him the best but he was never the same when he came back.

CP was a stud also but his lack of route running hurt us also.

I disagree we will miss Hunter, if nothing else the opposing defense had to play him honest which made it easier for others.

How much we will miss him depends on how well Croom and Pig step up.

Our scheme could be so different that it wont matter as much as it would if we stayed long bomb PS3 Madden style.

I always liked this quote. "You are what your record says you are" Big Tuna.

"They were who we thought they were" Dennis Greene.

Our two top LBs got on the first day when they declare. Also the previous year our defense was the 28th so the drastic drop off in production with the same players shows a lack of coaching not talent.
