Today is 07/14/2023.
It's July.

Take a look at this list of players we got commitments from " down the stretch "

Arion Carter 4 star
- 12/14/2022 ( December)
Daevin Hobbs 5 star
- 11/25/2022 (November)
Khalifa Keith 3 star
- 11/20/2022 (November)
Jordan Matthews 4 star
- 08/15/2022 (August)
Rick Gibson 4 star
- 08/14/2022 (August)

This is 5 impact players. Most had UGA and Bama offers legit.

Who here would complain if Jeremiah Smith 5 star Ohio State commit WR came to Knoxville with commit Mike Matthews and Ryan Wingo on a visit in late November?

I'm saying just let the wheel turn around. SO MUCH is going to happen in season

Absolutely agree… now the NCAA stuff put to bed as well, I believe it’ll only be better as we near signing day for flips and new big time targets.

Half the guys in our class aren't going to make our potential 25 and 26 classes

if you catch my drift

Not sure what your point is here. We've still missed out on a bunch of dudes we wanted at places of need. That's still a fact. No time to freak out just yet but it's a bit concerning. If Matthews commits it'll loosen everyone up a bit.

The point is we have 8 more spots to fill, and there's a ton of talent that can't sign till December 21.

There are 125 FBS teams of which 69 are Power 5 programs. Every team misses out on “dudes” they want. We can’t be so narrow-minded to think everyone wants to come to Tennessee…or anywhere else for that matter.

There will be a number of players who are currently not rated highly that will explode this year as seniors. Happens every year. And for the stargazers amongst us, their ratings will be adjusted as the season wears on. Likewise, some current highly rated players may not play up to expectations and their ratings will fall.

I am not a big stargazer. Stars suggest one’s ability but is not foolproof. I trust in coaching staffs (including ours) to find the right players to fit their system(s). And yes, we will miss out on players we want just like most of us missed out on the hot girls/boys we lusted after. That’s life.

Maybe. But I think everyone here expected the 2024 class to be absolutely loaded.

I'm just making the case that how we closed during the season really vaulted up our class.

Yeah, we've got some dudes but the expectation was we'd be top 5 right now.
It doesn't matter till signing day. A lot will change that will make this negative disposition pointless.
For what it's worth, I'm not sure we'll ever get a top 5 class under Heupel. That's okay too

I mean, we have 16 commits right now with a 3.75 star average per player according to Rivals. That's 3rd in the SEC as far as star average goes. folks just need to simmer down. This will likely end up being the most talented class we have had in many years.

The fanbase needs to understand it has power now.

Directly. There needs to be 100,000 people donating to NIL (SPYRE) and not just saying "well I already spend money on food and tickets".

A entire high school season of playing to go. No doubt us folks that have been around knows there are always players that emerge their senior year. You just know Garner is gonna get a late pull or 2 he always does.GBO!

We'll have 6 more spots after Matthews and Spillman i believe.

1 Wingo
2 ?
3 ?
4 ?
5 ?
6 ?

Huge season!

IMO...

Bates
Warren
Cole
Okoye
Smith
WR (TBD...hopefully Wingo)

That's a lock for a top 10 class even without Wingo...Wingo makes it a potential top 5 class
