Tennessee fought off No. 3 Vanderbilt three times before a seventh-inning grand slam by Kyle Smith gave the Commodores the lead and propelled them to a 12-8 victory in the series finale on Easter Sunday at Hawkins Field.

I only got to hear a bit of today's game, about 5th inning to the grand slam by Vandy in the 7th. Just like the other two games, the Vols were in it late, just couldn't finish. We're hurting ourselves with the walks, hit batters, wild pitches and errors. A team like Vandy will make you pay and they did what winning programs do today. The flip side is that it looks like this team will battle, fight through their self inflicted mistakes. Vandy is the #3 team in the country and this UT team went toe to toe and we all know we don't have the depth we need at the moment on the mound. I'm not much for "moral victories", and as much as I thought we'd pull one out, I'm proud of the fight they showed. We're young, the future is bright. GBO!
