Here being WA state. Patient “0” was believed to have arrived in WA on Jan 15. So this would put it about 3 weeks earlier.

I wonder where they put the timeline in NY? More like late January? Seems like it slow cooked for a bit before hitting large enough community spread to he detected (or show up as “excess” deaths).

Pretty much every Congress and admin since Clinton left office. That’s one of the few things I give Clinton, and the Republican Congress he worked with, credit for. We’re totally screwed approaching $30T in debt and chronic annual deficits.

Actually those tax cuts along with the reduced regulations are what helped create the economy we had prior to the virus. An economist who worked in the WH under Trump for a year showed all of the economic indicators they use and they all spiked after that legislation was passed. Before someone goes on a rant about how she only said that due to working for Trump let me make sure something is clear. She did not like Trump and her opinion didn’t change while in office. She said she went to work there when invited because she felt that the WH would need all the help they could get because she didn’t think they knew what they were doing. Anyway, even she said those changes spurred the strong economy so they didn’t just increase the deficit. Yes, things are different now but that strong economy is going to help us rebound more quickly and I believe it will help get Trump re-elected as people will vote for someone that has proven they can make things better quickly over someone who was part of an administration that didn’t do as well. There are also other reasons Trump will win but this is one of them.

I didn’t say anything differently . I’m not an expert in anything .. but I can read . I don’t have to be , you don’t have to be , not one single soul has to be an expert in understanding how a virus moves through a heard of animals . I have however raised animals , hunted most of my life, worked on a farm that had over 1500 head of adult hogs , and I was taught BASIC science and biology in high school . You and Dr fAcHui are trying to work off the premise of “ Curing” a virus that takes out the weak , infirmed, and defective . You are trying to assign an emotional state to a natural / biological process . I’ve tried really hard not to be just a raw dik about this , but apparently basic , natural & biological processes that occur everyday in the world just isn’t sinking in . Covid isn’t a planet killer , it’s not a country killer , hell its not even a state or county killer .. it’s just a virus that’s really hard on the weak and unhealthy populations ( just like every damn virus that’s ever been ) . The reason people In every country are dying , ( down to the decimal point ) is because they are weak /sick or unhealthy . Protect our weak and unhealthy from it and lets get started back up , because sooner or later the FREE MONEY is going to run out and we will be back to square one with no economy , no money and truly F’ed .

I was replying specifically to a post about the deficit. Despite the stock market and new startups both responding very favorably to the tax cuts, they still didn’t hit the GDP growth they projected - or close to what they needed to meet the tax revenue they projected. Thus the ballooning deficit.

I’m also familiar with the Kevin Hasset press conference from Summer 2018 (by the way this is the same guy who came back to the White House for a while and produced the famous cubic model that showed deaths going to zero forever ago). I actually took each plot he presented and did my own analysis. It was just stupid. He was taking cyclical factors like capex investment and plotting the derivative to make it look like it was surging because it came out of the trough. Other factors, like manufacturing PMI, which did climb through the summer of 18, crashed from exactly them all the way through 2019 - actually slipping below 50 (meaning contraction) by spring 2019. Also the cyclical metrics he presented had turned back down by 2019, meaning the plots that were shown before looked rough just a year later. I hated that press conference because it was cherry picking metrics to make them look better and the ones that weren’t cherry picked, like PMI, turned bad just months later. He was aiming to show how factors had changed dramatically between Obama and Trump. And while things did change - they were exaggerated by the way Hassett showed them. And many of those factors went right back to where they had been

Germany has already showed him..... combine that with what Sweden has already done and we may be able to move forward instead of constantly hiding and re hiding bc this disease will run its course.... he has not offered one d&mn thing different than has been done for 100 of years.

What about the people who have been around me? We don’t know if I have it. I just have been around someone who has it in this hypothetical. And then what about the people who have been around them? How many degrees of Kevin Bacon are we going to go on this? The responsible thing would be to get tested and isolate until my results come back and I continue to have no symptoms

You’ve just illustrated why the paranoia over CV19 is just that, paranoia. Yes, it is potentially deadly, but to less than 1% of the population and mitigating their risk is pretty easy.

I was at Hurricane marina last night on Center Hill and it looked like normal America...... and if anyone is interested .... I learned that late night games of corn hole include a rule that if you get skunked you have to strip and run down the dock and back......

No, if there are bad and less bad numbers, Clay only emphasizes the less bad numbers and tells us that's what we should really be focusing on (like when Florida's cases were spiking, but daily deaths were still in the 40s). Cuomo is giving all the relevant numbers: deaths, positivity rate, new cases, and hospitalizations.

Travis at least provides his source. That he tends to focus on the positive is welcome relief from the constant fear porn coming out of the rest of the media.
