This is every statement before eventually taking a job. Roy Williams while coaching Kansas in the Final Four comes to mind. Cept he said “I could give a **** about North Carolina right now!” on live TV.
Agree. Just pointing out that this same situation has been NOT DENIED in very salty fashion...throughout the years. But he didn't even say that kind of thing. I really like the way he handled it. He made it sound like the usual fake news without denying it's truth. It allows his players to believe he's not going anywhere so they can focus on their game. Of course that's easy for him to do since this really does happen to him repeatedly. And of course it's easy for him to do if it really is just fake news.
And so be it if he isn’t interested. He’s not the only coach in the country. If he loves Louisville that much, he should stay there and we should move on. Don’t let this search bog down at the outset. Hopefully, lessons have been learned from the football program!Wow...He said.."Job's not open".....He's basically telling Fulmer that he's open to being the next Tennessee HC.
I agree with you but it brings to mind what Doug Dickey did to us a few days before we played Florida in a bowl game-- it was bad bad tasteNot saying he wouldn't be interested in the job just stated a fact that the job is at the moment not open. I can see easily that he would be interested in the job because if he wasn't he would say I don't want the job am not interested in the job will be staying at Louisville. He said none of that and actually what he said is all he can say. You can't still be playing and say yes I want that Tennessee job when the coach hasn't even been fired yet. I read he wants the job and would take the job if it was open and he was offered at a salary that was acceptable.
Or wants Louisville to think he's been offered the job so he can leverage a few bucks from the Cardinals. Not saying he wouldn't be interested in the job just stated a fact that the job is at the moment not open.
