Leach TM cover.jpg

Funny how this little cover and interview stirred up the hippies at tu. By the way, Texas Monthly is an Austin Based publication.

Mehhh......I think he's a good coach with a gimmicky Offensive system. He can score some points thats for sure. I have really never disliked Leach. I just hate the school he works for, their fans, and the rest of all things Lubbock related.

He's a clown err pirate and would have been a terrible hire for us.

To each his own. It would have been cool to see his offense play against SEC defense for more than 1 game a year.

Let me just give you a heads up, you dont want him in your conference unless you have him at your school. Lubbock had been irrelevant since that dust bowl cow college was developed. That is not the case in the Big12 South anymore.

Have they won the Big 12 South under Leach? If Ole Miss and Nutt can handle Leach I wouldn't be too worried about him.

And we saw what he did against the SEC when he was the OC at Kentucky.

Kentucky football? Seriously? Are you saying the state of Kentucky produces the same level of High School players that Texas does?

I haven't said a word about high school football.

You said it would be fun to see him in the SEC... we already have.

And when Leach was at UK he had Couch, who was from Kentucky, at QB.

The talent he gets in the desert is far better that what he ever got in Kentucky. And back to your Coach Nutt and Ole Miss comment, are you talking about the same Ole Miss that's ranked in the top 10 this year?

and speaking of Couch, whats his career yardage total, something like 8K right? Harrell almost did that in one year.

What QB at TT is better than Couch?

Yea, the same Ole Miss team that finished 3-9 and last place in their division the year before beating TT and hadn't had a winning season since '03.

Where did those two get drafted?

Harrell had 5,705 for most yards in a season. I guess you can consider that close to 8,772 if you want.

considering he did it twice in his career, and it took three years for Couch to accumulate 8k, I'll take it for what its worth. Harrell not getting drafted only makes me smile though, so you're spot on concerning that issue.

Texas Tech is as relevant in the Big 12 as South Carolina is in the SEC.

The silly pirate stuff and all those passing yards are nice for press, but none of it has led Tech to a conference, or even a division, championship.

So if you just go by stats you are saying Harrell is better than Peyton Manning?

I'll be sure to forward that to Mr. Brown, Gundy, Briles, Pelini, and Sherman.

His mentor Hal Mumme has already tried that garbage system in the SEC.

I dont typically go by stats alone. Peyton Manning did more for Tennessee that Graham did for Tech. My point is the Leach has done some amazing stuff to bring Tech to where they are today. Then we got off on this Qb comparison somehow, which frankly, I'm bored with.

The summary could read, You dont like him, never wanted him. I dont like him because of his TT on his shirt, but respect him. Qb's he's coached are/were successful, and he looks like a tool on the cover of Texas Monthly. Fair enough?

Whya would we remotely care? How many times has he beaten Texas? About as many as South Carolina has beaten Georgia. He's accomplished nothing of substance. It's the Spike Dykes Era in a more entertaining package. Nothing else.

How have Okla. St., Baylor, A&M or Nebraska been relevant in recent years?

One upset of Texas doesn't make you relevant.

Im certain those guys are not "looking ahead" when the Tech week comes around. And while, "in recent years", you'd be right, seems to me that two of the above listed are in some pretty high ranking with the national polls thus far.
