If these were the 3 things I want as a starter than these are my rankings I would give the QB's based on footage, body language, and other wacky theories...

Leadership :

1. Worley
2. Peterman
3. Dobbs

Skills :

1. Peterman - he seems quicker with better accuracy
2. Worley - he doesn't have to run, but he under throws a lot.
3. Dobbs - he can run, but his passing seems terrible

Playbook Understanding:

1. Dobbs - he's a genius apparently
2. Worley - he was starter last year
3. Peterman - probably just a close to Worley, but with less experience on field.

I think Worley will be our starter, but with Peterman as our 2nd. You can always dummy down the playbook if you have to. Dobbs can understand what to do, but he may not be that skilled... and I don't think we have a QB coach that can really develop a QB. We need more a QB guru IMO.
Plus, for some reason don't you want all your QB's to throw, run, do the same mechanics as all your other QB's? Or am I just picky? I noticed in the "hand off drills", that each one had different motions the way they hand off.

I think you started two threads more than you needed to about our QBs, Pete.

Worley will likely start, and Dobbs will probably be second. Peterman will come in for a little mop up duty against Chat..

IMO people really need to lay off the QB situation until the Utah st game...

Let's actually see what we are working with. I have a feeling we will be winning that game by enough to see at least 2 of them play if not all 3.

At that point we can have some discussions, but at this point no one really knows how far any of them have come long at this point. With all the reports about off season work outs with QB gurus etc. There is no telling.

Plus I really do not think it was ever not going to be worley. I think the whole QB battle was\is a smoke screen to keep our opponents from being able to game plan against a single guy.

Butch knows that the first game is huge for us. We need to not only win, but win by a very nice margin in order to set the tone for the season.

In order to be able to play with OK, our players will need to be extremely confident going into that game, that won't happen if we struggle against Utah. I would not be surprised to see us run up the score, even late into the game, to show our players how good they actually are, so they KNOW they can compete with OK.

If we beat Utah by around 3 td or more, then I feel we will have an excellent chance at OK. Our players just need to believe they can do it

As of right now, Fergy is leading with Wegzyn close behind. (sarcasm)

You should have waited until after the scrimmage to start this thread.

Finals finished yesterday, so maybe we will see more focus from the QBs.

Peterman definitely has the best and quickest footwork of the Qb's I've seen in the highlights.

Here we go again with everyone seeing minutes of practice footage as opposed to the days and months the coaches see yet they feel like they know who is smarter, more agile, has better touch, better accuracy, hands off better, has better footwork, runs better, makes better decisions and so on.
It's unbelievable. Why do any of you second guess the coaches?
It's funny because at no time has it been worse than last year and by the end of the season everyone was begging for Worley to be back.
Let the coaches coach. They're there for a reason.

Are these QBs "consistently bad or good" or "inconsistent"?

That would really only be an issue for USU, since after that game the cat would be out of the bag, and I'm pretty sure the USU coaching staff is like we are in anticipating Worley will be the starter.
