That guy obviously threw in that line at the and of the article to push some buttons. I just shake my head when I read stuff like that. :disappointed:

UK, Bro' I am a huge Mets fan and have been my whole life. Grew up alone in a sea of fairweather Braves fans. I stick with my boys win or lose. When the braves sucked you couldnt find a braves fan, as soon as they atarted winning you couldnt throw a rock without hitting one. I got pulled over on the Atlanta freeway for speeding and the GA state trooper gave me a ticket...........to a braves game.

Im a Vol fan and I think that the comment was humorous and is somewhat on the mark.

Is there a better barometer for the state of the program when a sports editor working for a 5th rate newspaper starts taking potshots at the end of an article on higschool football?

That tells me that this kind of talk is going on at local diners and barbershops all over the state.

Is there a better barometer for the quality of a reporter when he starts taking potshots at the favorite college football program of most of his paper's readers as the last line of an article on a different subject? Before a game has even been played? As if the fact that he writes for "The Leaf Chronicle" isn't bad enough.

Doc, that was actually my point. Either this guy is parroting conversations he has had with community members or he is just a glutton for punishment.

:lolabove: Funny story. I have also followed the Mets since I was a kid. I am planning on seeing the series in Atlanta at the end of July and then see the series in Miami (basically follow the team for a week). This has been a fun year. I had to get mlb.tv. :clapping: (Let's Go Mets!)

Im scared that our pitching is starting to fade. I'm in Houston and they're coming here in Aug, so I cant wait. Come on down and meet the METS! David Wright and Jose Reyes are the real deal holyfield!

As a former Clarksvillian, any sports article written by The "Infamous" "Laugh Comicle"(aka Leaf Chronicle) not only makes me sigh, but should be taken with an enormous grain of salt.
