He would have gone somewhere but I don't know that he would have made the cut and actually play on Sundays. Tend to doubt it, actually. He also probably realized that with Leinhart, Young, and Cutler in the draft, his absolute best possible day was to be the fourth QB taken and I think he probably would have fallen a couple of more spots.
I personally believe that as a drop-back passer he is as good as anyone but he can't take NFL punishment. If he can toughen up this summer, maybe bulk up and get a little faster on his feet, then have a really good year, he can graduate and possibly be in the top three QB's for next year's draft.
I have to confess that I expected more of him this year in terms of running. I was not disappointed with his passing game, but that's not good enough in the Meyer offense. I don't think many NFL teams are interested in trying what Meyer likes to to do, but it does seem to me that if a QB can conquer that system and throw and be a running threat, then that gives him good credentials for the more pro-type offenses.
