Chrissy ending his career without not a single SECCG appearence would be hilarious to me.

Love it

Why did that statement suddenly bring back memories of Peyton's tenure at UT

Not sure considering Manning got a secc ring in 97.

Peyton not only made an appearance in the SEC Championship game, he won the SEC championship, and he lead his team to 11 wins, 10 wins, and 11 wins...Leak 8, 7, and 9 so far. To put this simply, Chris Leak sucks.

Should've known better than to expect Vol fans to think conceptually

I was referring to something other than the secc :whistling:

:lolabove: Because the post you replied to clearly mentions the SECCG? if you were referring to something other than the SECCG, no one would know.....that doesn't require "conceptual thinking". It only requires eyes and the ability to read.

I have to say, I am surprsied by all the Leak-bashing. The kid has been nothing but a hard worker, he doesn't insult other teams or players, he is pretty damn good (not the best ever, but unquestionably good), and he seems like an all around good guy.

Next September I expect your team to try to bury him in the turf and for you fans to root for him to take a pounding. But come on, he's an example of a smart, talented and dedicated kid in college football and personally I wish his attitude and demeanor was more common on BOTH the Vols' and the Gators' football teams.

I see what you are saying LG1 but he burned the entire Volnation when he chose UF over UT and that is probably what all the hate is about - besides he is ALWAYS highly touted in the ealry parts of the season and ends up doing nothing - when are people going to realize that his tenure at UF is nothing but average at best? I think the kid has great presence and ability but he just doesn't fit the style of play he has been shoved into; I just dont think he has been given a good chance at UF.

True Lawgator1. Think your comment is accurate. Don't think I was too critical or personal (I hope). Love his work ethic but just don't think he has turned out to be the "One" that he was touted to be. Think he will do fine but not great. Hope I am wrong for your sake, except for our game.

i don't disagree with you, and i don't disagree with Volracerx either. I live in Charlotte, and my brother went to high school with Chris Leak, and played one year with him....and i got to meet him when he was a soph in hs. He seemed well put together and level headed, and all around good kid. Not too full of himself and not cocky. all things i admired at the time, cause he was, even at 15/16 yrs old, getting a ton of attention from colleges.

but, the way he came off during the recruiting process about how the coaches at UT treated his brother, and how it affected his decision is what really turned us off of him. The way he tried to hold playing time for CJ over the staff's head for his signature on Feb. 1......all you ever heard before that from Chris and his parents, was what a good relationship they all had with the TN Staff and CPF. then because CPF yanked CJ in the UGA game, he wants to then publically(his ESPN weekly recruiting blog) come out and criticisize the decision and that would be a reson he would now NOT go to UT.....that's when the good feelings went away, and rightfully so.

And i think UT fans are justified in wanting to beat him, and so far, so good...we got a 2-1 record against him, and he's had to endure coaching changes, both at OC and HC, and now finds himself as a senior in a system that does not fit the strengths he posseses. I think there's a bit of "i told you so" from TN fans to him, because our system on offense matches his strenghts much more than what CUM's does.....And while i wont' argure the point that we haven't exactly lit it up, we have been in the SEC CG during his tenure, and the only thing he has really accomplished is what UF fans made fun of us for in the 90's....beating up on UGA, UK, Vandy etc...and going to the Outback Bowl.

Now all that may change this season, as i think you would probably agree, UF shold be loaded for bear, and i think they should definitely be the team in the East in the SEC CG next season....

But one last trip to Knoxville, it would be sweet to get that win.....can't wait already.

Go Vols.

I think Leak will be judged on wins and losses not so much stats and winning the big games. He will need to win the SEC to rank up there with the elite florida qb's. In his 3 years he has been part of 13 losses witha possiblily of 2-3 more his senior year. He has been decent at best but not great. I am sure he is a good guy personally but i do not think he is the best qb in the sec this past year. 3rd at best this year tied with brodie croyle.

I think Spurrier would have turned him into a Heisman winner.

Methinks (and I hope I'm wrong) that Leak will be the Shockley of 06 and lead UF to the SEC C'ship.

I think I'll just follow the lead of this year's NFL scouts, and act as if he didn't exist. At least 'til it comes time to play those boys again.... :D

I would tend to agree with that statement - I would also bet that the Ol' Ball Coach would have had him in A NCG

I have no idea. Maybe because you are just mad Chrissy has yet to ever win 10+ games or that he hasn't ever gotten into the SEC? Mad that he had a average at best year?

Who knows?

He is a gator. If you expect us to be kissing his ass and saying how great he is, I suggest GatorCountry

Well, I was just picking up on a sentiment here over time that folks are tired of controversy and shenannigans from their team's players and that in particular a lot of UT fans felt like there had been a little too much looking the other way this past year such that team discipline was really hurt. My main point -- and I appreciate the comments of those who got it -- was that Leak to me is what is right about college athletics. Talent, hard work, determination, class.

Just like to see more of that everywhere, including Gainesville and Knoxville and I think a lot of people feel that way, regardless of where they went to school or for whom they root.

Come on LG . . . I'm glad to hear you're a Leak fan, but forgive some people if they have trouble giving props to a guy who tried to use his recruitment to influence our depth chart and flat out put in writing that the Tennessee coaches were liars.
