Just watched it. Thought it was pretty good even with the non-ending. It’s produced by President Obama’s Higher Grounds production company.

Anyone else watched it?

Watched tonight. wife asked what I thought about half way through. I said I'd give it an 8. A t the end of the movie I said I'd lower that to a 4.
Entertaining but crummy.

"On the Beach", 1959 was much better.

it was mid, i gave it a 5/10. I can't believe they didn't have some gay guy who think he's a female. the daughter was crap. at least they keep making the white father a useless human.

I wanted to like it. I tried to like it. But it never really got good and the ending was terrible.

Thought Kevin Bacon (still one of my favorite actors) would have a bigger role.

Julia Roberts nailed the Karen role, but kind of faded off at the end.

The kids were horrible. Not even going to look them up to quote their names. At least the daughter got to see the ending of Friends... I did see the irony there though.

Ethan Hawke's role was horrible and not really developed.

Mahershala Ali had an intriguing character that wasn't really developed either. But I liked the mystique behind him.

Myha'la Herrold pulled off the spoiled brat nicely. Though it was almost over played.

Too many Chekhov's Gun situations. Like what was up with the deer? Why did Bacon tell them about the shelter instead of using it himself? Flamingos? The whole town saw the oil tanker... nobody thought to bring in a news crew even with the net being down?

The dancing scene wasn't necessary. Nothing drove it before or after.

The tooth thing was weird.

And you're telling me Kevin Bacon is this hard core survivalist and only has a commercial grade shotgun?

I like movies that make you think in the end and cliffhangers, but this one missed the mark.

I haven't seen this yet (too many people making it sound like I'd find it more annoying than entertaining) but regarding the deer it is supposedly a metaphor about nature, even when considered a "peaceful" aspect thereof, can take on an ominous feeling when what we all take for granted falls away. At least that's how it was explained to me.

I watched this movie. I was all in until the ending. Ending was terrible. The suspense of everything that was happening kept the moving interesting. But the ending was just dumb.
