Sad to be leaving Augusta National before Sunday, but Easter calls. Here are a couple of my observations:

1. Greens were as hard has possible. If that happens without the wind, only about 5 people can win the tourney. It happens to be the same 5 who can win with the course soft.

2. The wind took the high bomb out of the tournament and evened things up to some degree. That said, the 5 real horses in the race win if they hit the ball remotely well off the tee.

3. This wind and cold amplified all of the problems on the green.

4. All of the tees were way up on Sat. Course probably played 200 yards under the card.

5. Just saw Tiger hit the worst iron shot I've ever seen him hit. Looked to be about 160 up the hill on 18 (probably a knock down 7 with the wind conditions) with the pin on the back. Missed the green short and right and looked to be blaming the wind by his gestures.

6. The two par 5s on the back were played as poorly this week (especially Saturday) as I've ever seen them played. That's a large part of the over par scoring.

7. Egg salad sammies and cheap beer are still the best in the entire game of golf.
