Did anybody hear the coment he made about the vols last night saying that auburn beat an AVERAGE tennessee team. Scoring 28 points on auburn's D sure as heck isn't AVERAGE to me. I think our defense makes us look terrible to people. :corso:

Corso was just befuddled. They all were. They were all supporting Auburn as the number two team in the country, and were just tossing out excuses as to how the game was as close as it was.

We should have won that game.......period!

Should have? USC will probably beat Oklahoma, but not by much, and if Auburn can beat Virginia Tech by a margin of 20 or so, then they can still make the case for a share of the national championship.

So saying we should beat a team that is still potentially a national champion (with an asterisk, anyways) is saying something. We gave Auburn a run for their money, you can complain about the refs all you want, but the fact is that we lost. Auburn is the better team this year.

Milo, I agree with you on that. We played and stodd up toe-to-toe with OU. Hade a chance to tie the ballgame up at the end of regulation. Many people will tell you that we outplayed OU we just didn't win. Personally, we lost this year and they are better this year. We will have another shot at them next year just as you all will with Auburn. Be happy that you guys made it a game with a team that everyone thinks should be playing for the Title.

By the way, I think OU vs. Auburn would be the best title game. USC has gotten a free pass this year b/c of last year and their preseason #1 ranking.

I completely agree with GibbyAg OU and Auburn would be a great game. USC and the Pac 10 is over rated.

I'm sure OU and USC are happy about playing each other. I would think they both are relieved at not playing Auburn. Hats Off to AU. We brought everything. We even brought our pistols to shoot our foots everytime we got them on the ropes. Discipline. We can say alot of what ifs, or blame the refs calls, but we played well enough to overcome that and put the game out there. Bottom line is defensive discipline.

welcome to our Aggie friends , unfortunately Au rotates off our schedule next yr only chance at rematch is in SECCG but I don't think Au will make it next yr the draft is about to dismantle that team. Looks like we will be seeing you guys in the Cotton Bowl how do you think we match Up?

half of the things that corso says are crazy....as for the game this weekend I don't feel bad about the loss...in my book AU is number 1 or 2 (usc should be 3) and we were in it with a chance to win with our 3rd string qb...not too shabby

Trying to defend the Pac-10 against anybody living east of the Rocky Mountains is just kicking a dead horse...

In the defense of USC specifically, how, exactly are they overrated? I think the fact that they have maintained their #1 ranking all season means that much more. They have beaten #8 Virginia Tech who turned out to be one of the best teams in the country this year. VT was looking to come out strong and prove themselves as serious contenders for the ACC Championship, especially against a Miami team that was ranked very highly at that time. USC even managed to utilize their defense and hold Cal to 17 points when Aaron Rodgers hit 85% of his passes, and didn't miss for three straight quarters. They also came out in the second quarter and stuffed a very underrated Oregon State team, who outplayed an LSU team, and would have won without an OT if not for a missed kick. Let's also not forget holding Arizona State to just 7 points, and the Sundevils are typically an offensive powerhouse.

For as offensively-minded as the Pac-10 is, and I will admit that most of our teams could focus more on defense, USC allowed an average of just 12 points a game.

Milo, you might have something there. I can't seem to get out of my mind the 2 whippings that Oklahoma took at the end of last season after ESPN declared them the best team ever. Kansas State ran roughshod over them and then LSU shut 'em down. I'm thinking that Southern Cal beats OU in the Orange Bowl.... and Auburn is going to have a tough time with Va Tech. Aubie's defense is fast on the edges, but they are weak up the middle.... just where Va Tech likes to run it.

I hope Virginia Tech beats Auburn so WarEagle76 (or whatever his name is) will leave us the hell alone for a long time to come.
