I am a gambling man if you haven't noticed. I wish Nashville had a casino downtown next to the river like Windsor Canada does. What are your thought on legalized gambling and do you think it would be a nice thing to have in Nashvile?

there are lots of "vices" in this country that shouldn't be illegal. But good luck, it didn't take that long to get the lottery in TN did it?

Gambling should be no problem in Middle Tennessee. Just drive to Knoxville, Metropolis, IL or Tunica, MS.

I've never encountered one good argument why gambling should be illegal. I'd go to Nashville a lot more if they had a casino.

It's a matter of time, especially given all of the revenue that it generates. And why let all the people who do want to gamble go a state or two over and lose the tax dollars to them?

I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't happened by now.

I somewhat wonder how much our friends in Mississippi are pumping in to make sure it never does.

I've got nothing against it. If you want to take a chance on your money, go for it.

Would never gamble in a casino with the thought I'm walking away with profit. Just a good time and a hey maybe.

Just like hangng out playing cards and drinking and casinos offer that.

I'm not sure about that. But you can find poker houses with dealers, black jack tables, and craps. And yes, you can get whatever complimentary drink you want and food. There is that much money flowing at these spots.

I hadn't seen a place with a video slot, however, which is surprising. I'm sure they are around, I just haven't been there probably.

I haven't lived in Knoxville in a while, so things may have changed/places moved. But as of the summer of 2008, it was up and going hard and strong at both spots I knew about.

They have those houses in every medium sized city. Just know your place when you show up.

I like casinos. Only time I've ever been I won $80. They're good for the state. IL and IA both have casinos. Show personal restraint and you'll stay safe. With that, I know a couple of family friends that have lost a ton of money on the boat.

That's the catch. The derelicts give their money to the general fund instead of LCN. It also creates more slot monkeys who move up in the world from scratch tickets to $10 30 line slots.

If the derelicts aren't throwing away their money gambling, they are doing it on reefer, alcohol or some other vice. Not to mention, if they are focused on gambling, they will have less time to think about reproducing.
