Henderson retired from football following the 2011 season and will return to Neyland Stadium for the first time since he celebrated his Senior Day with a 38-0 shutout of Vanderbilt in 2001.

I remember back in 1996 or 1997, my high school played his (I went to Mt. Juliet, he went to Pearl-Cohn), and we beat them 3-0. It was their only loss en route to the clinic bowl championship, and an undefeated season the following year (John's Freshman year at UT). Anyway after we beat them 3-0 that game, their QB started throwing to him as a WR and no one could bring him down, hence part of the reason they went undefeated the rest of that season. Dude is a monster.

Sad a true Vol like Henderson hasn't been back til now. Hopefully it was because he has been tied up between pro ball, kids games, etc and not because he wasn't welcome by the carousel of coaches

Played against "Baby Shaq" in high school. He was incredible. He could have sacked our quarterback every play if he really wanted and caught a touchdown with three defenders interfering with him (one of which was me).

I also, as running back, was supposed to block down on him when our tight end went out on certain pass plays. I was 5'8", 145lbs. Needless to say, it did not go as planned.
