If you like tactical incompetence, Florida State-Georgia Tech is your nirvana.

I think Paul Hewitt has the best contract in the history of sports. He must have had pictures of the President and AD when they offered him that thing.

I always get a kick out of seeing how early GT runs out of timeouts.
It's crazy. Every game is the exact same. Tech falls down by double digits and then hits a deep 3 to close within about 10 with 5 minutes to go, and Hewitt starts calling timeouts after every made basket.

He's the worst coach I've ever seen last this long at a decent basketball program. Hewitt isn't significantly better tactically than Wade Houston or Ron Jirsa.

Did not see this particular game, but is it safe for me to assume that it included the standard Leonard Hamilton game plan, consisting of: a) having no actual game plan; b) standing idly by as his team panics and every possession late in the game is them coming down the floor pell mell and just flinging it up, followed by; c) Hamilton stands there and glares at people, covering up the fact he can't figure out what to do next?

I just heard some sports talk guys say that the paid attendance for the game was only 5,900 and actual bodies in the stands was around 2-3,000. They are going to have a serious problem next year with fan support when they have to temporarily move games off campus to the Ga Dome and Philips Arena. I don't care how big the buyout is, there's no way they can sink all the money into renovating their arena and then let Hewitt stick around to kill off what's left of the fan base.

Matt Chernoff seems to think that GT is going to do whatever it takes to send Hewitt packing after this year.

I grew up as a GT fan. I have followed it very closely. UTRavens Sr. is a Tech alum and follows it 10x more closely. Let me tell you what Georgia Tech basketball is like.

It is like giving Forrest Gump a box of chocolates, only the chocolates are turds.

Every game, Georgia Tech does something new that isn't thought to be humanly possible. Sometimes it's good. They randomly beat Duke every now and then, and all three of their ACC wins have been blowouts. Usually, though, it's bad. Every player except one has gone scoreless in a game this year. Every game a player's minutes are drawn out of a hat. Players have been substituted for one second intervals. Against Clemson, Tech allowed a 22-0 run in the first half. Against Maryland, Tech allowed 74 points, 72 of which were either in the paint or on free throws.

You cannot make this stuff up.
