Les Miles rips Gunner Kiel

Normally I would say that is classless, but LSU kinda got screwed from what I've read.

Even if Les feels this way what benefit is it by saying something.

Pretty dumb move by Les. The kid is a headcase and scared of competition no doubt, but there was no benefit to Les calling him out...

Happen to us with Simms several years ago. I wish the SEC would just increase the number of players you can sign so teams aren't left holding the bag when recruits that you have been holding a spot open for six months sign with another team. And I bet a lot of recruits receive extra benefits from rival boosters to keep teams holding open spots untill signing day.

I thought it was great that he said it. If you are 18 you are legally an adult, and if you are a public figure you are open to criticism (even if you aren't you are). I like that he ripped the kid, because I think we all know whose gonna be just fine at the end of all this.

Meh, they did it to Texas with a QB recruit in the past too.

It's one of those things that happens, to all of these schools (& Texas/Chris Simms did it to us; I'm sure UT&some QB have done it to another school as well)

Excactly, I hope other recruits take notice. I did not like how the Kiel family handled it either, but two wrongs do not make a right. He should take the high road and show class.

Not to defend 'The Hat', but I was actually glad someone did that to Gunner. Anyone who followed the kids recruitment understood he didn't have the testicular fortitude to want to challege for playing time anywhere. Scared of competition both on the roster and in the conference IMO.

I don't understand what Les is upset about. Gunner Kiel did LSU and Miles a favor. He's the type of recruit that hurts a program in the long run.

Notre dame qb has more spotlight than any position in country arguably.

Forgot it was illegal to change your mind.

I thought it was probably a little over the line and not needed. I think if he would have left the "Indiana" part out people would have gotten the message without pointing a finger.

As far as Kiel not coming, just a normal part of the bizarre recruiting process the NCAA has setup.

He doesn't have the "ability to lead", yet you were recruiting the crap out of him........

Personally, I see Miles' pov. QB is not a position you recruit 3-4 kids at in a class. If you get a late flip on your qb you're screwed. Also, when you get a highly rated qb committed early you usually can't get that second qb that you really want.
