Les Miles Setting Things Up For 2017

I've always liked Les. Poor clock management at times, but the man was not afraid to be aggressive and call the big plays. I hope he gets a good gig.

4th and goal a half foot out against Oklahoma with ~55 minutes left with a 240lb RB who was actually trying at the time... Les Miles doesn't kick a field goal.

Many here thought the same thing at the time.

Miles would be a good fit at Texas. I see that as a strong possibility. Oregon, Florida, Notre Dame all realistic if any of those coaches get booted.

He'll be getting close to 63 by next season, although anything is possible. So, let me get this right you get rid of Mack Brown a few years ago.... to eventually hire someone at the same age?

Someone might give him a shot but I just don't see that experiment working out so well, I do hope the best for him.

I can see him at Houston after Herman leaves. 4 hour drive from Baton Rouge. Same recruiting territory. Would also have access to plenty of Texas kids.

Yes. He's not done yet. He will be coaching next year. Prob SEC, B1G, or B12. Although Texas solely depends on them cutting Strong short. Not sure he's done this year. Prob gets one more.

I think Herman will leave for the right gig. He stayed at Houston prob thinking B12 was expanding and Houston joining B12 would be a huge validation for that program and they would compete for conference titles there. He will jump now that it is not happening. He will go power 5 somewhere.

Many will laugh, but Baylor can pay a lot of money and they will be looking for a big name coach to get recruiting going again. This could also be a possibility for Les. He's familiar with the Big 12.

Per Football Scoop:

Les Miles is pitching Purdue on bringing Steve Sarkisian with him as offensive coordinator and Mike Locksley as run game coordinator according to Travis Haney of 247Sports. Meanwhile, Haney reports P.J. Fleck is interested in Purdue but has his eye on the North Carolina job should that open.
