I just watched his weird post game Thanksgiving food rant. Undoubtedly great football mind. If you could swap coaches today, would you?

Les Miles is gifted w supreme talent year after year. His actual coaching acumen isn't top flight.

There are plenty of other coaches id rather have than miles

Les may may just a tad to do with bringing in all that supreme talent. His team is a top tier team in the toughest division of the best conference of the NCAA year after year. He is one of the best coaches in the game today.

I wouldn't fire butch after just 1 year. We didn't underperform that badly

You aren't firing butch. You are being told you can have one of the best SEC coaches with a proven track record and a BCS title. That's better than Butch can say, and possibly better than he'll ever say. If Butch does all the things Les has done at LSU at UT, I will consider him exceeding expectations.

If you wouldn't trade him and his staff straight up for our current one, you are a fool.

I wouldn't trade either. Les is a goofball and struggles terribly with game management. He has been able to really recruit well and the cupboard was definitely full when he arrived. Give Butch a few years to get SEC caliber players and then you may feel differently.:peace2:

Well, I'd take the Chief back in a heartbeat, for starters, and that Cameron guy they have at OC now is pretty good too.

Also, after seeing the way people on here melt down over the slightest clock management errors by Butch & Co, I can assure you that watching Les Miles call Tennessee games would make heads explode. Yall ain't seen nothing yet. And this is from someone who likes Les.

This.
If you watch LSU you see plenty of mental errors game after game. You can get by with that when you have their level of talent.

Not the best Xs and Os guy, not the smartest guy but he understands the game, is a pretty good guy, runs a clean program, has a good knack of calling trick plays, and the players love him....and he is the best interview in sports.

The only long term mistake he has really made was not getting rid of Crowton about 2 years sooner.... Crowton destroyed LSU's O.

I think Les has done a great job this year considering the number of players that are leaving/left to the NFL early.

Of course, I do want to kick him in the nuts from time to time, but overall he has done good.... people that think this is easy have no idea what they are talking about.
