Let the debate restart

I'll be honest. I started this thread because usually this debate comes with a few laughs.

I don't think it would matter who won such a match up. At the end of the day, we all know there is a big difference between the two genders sports.

I suck at basketball and never played it in an organized fashion, but can dominate women who played all their life. I'm not unique.

Cheryl Miller would have wiped the floor with 90% of the people on this board.

That being said, the debate is ignorance. The physical differences of genders is too great.

I don't dispute that for a second. But would she wipe the floor with an average D-1 men's player?

Not a chance she could beat any D-I scholarship player. But this whole debate irritates me, as did all the uproar over the 89th straight. They're different sports and different records. It'd be like celebrating a college football team celebrating breaking a record set in the NFL.

So why is it offensive to some for us to state what we believe to be the honest facts? I realize some guys are jerks about this sort of thing, but I don't mean it to be demeaning in the least. This is just one of those big differences between the genders. Women have far more emotional intelligence, and in my opinion are generally more clever.

I have several theories on that, but I don't want to upset those you speak of anymore than they already are.

What debate?

I haven't seen Centenary--I had to look back at the article to make sure I spelled it correctly--but they would beat any women's team as badly as they wanted to beat them, and maybe worse.

I agree. No offense to women who play college and pro sports, but they simply can't compete with the athletic advantages of men playing at the same level. Ask Michelle Wie and Annika Sorenstam about playing with the guys. Golf is a sport that women should be able to hang with and even beat the guys at the college and pro level. And neither of them came close. The only sport that women beat the men with any consistency at the pro level is drag racing.

But Geno would whine like a pansy if his team got beat by the worst D 1 men's team. Or ANY team for that matter.

The fact the greatest women's player ever wouldn't handle 10% of this board should end the debate.

We have quite a few very old and fairly fat people on this board. 90 % may be accurate, but more of a reflection of that than of the strength of female athleticism.

oh i agree. was just trying to stir the pot a little
its funny that so many people get irrrate over such an insignificant topic
