We lost to a possible top five team by one point, with some of our best players injuried. I can't say I'm not disappointed, but it could have been a lot worse. Ainge and our receivers played exceptionally well considering our running game was non-existent, our biggest problems last night was our running game and the fact that we couldn't stop Tebow even tough we knew exactly what he was going to do.

i think our biggest problems were the line on both sides. florida manhandled us up front.

Our recievers werent open on the final drive. No where near it. O line is the problem guys. But we did play our butts off and we should ride this game straight into the SEC championship after Florida loses to GA and Auburn.

I love your optimism CBC.
I'm with him. I thought we played pretty well considering we had no run game to speak of, or a run defense. Ainge played great and I think that perhaps losing this game was better for us than winning in such sloppy fashion would have been.

I agree. The coaching staff has the team going in the right direction this year. The offense line is young and thin and have a lot of improvement to make. Run blocking needs to get a lot better.

Add to that, the combined loss of Inky and Fellows was felt in certain situations.

We're still a bit too thin at some key points (O-line, D-line with Harrell gone and secondary) to be a Top 10 team.

At receiver, QB, RB, LB I think we have enough talent for Top 10.

Special teams are good but not great.

Time will tell, but I don't think either of the two teams we saw last night looked like Top 10 (much less Top 5!) teams. I hope I'm wrong because if UF turns out to be a Top 5 team that means we're better than I think we are.

Well, I have cooled off and dealt with my disappointment. My first instinct last night was to blame somebody - Ainge, Mapu, whomever. But today I realize that I was wrong to blame anybody. It's just a game and somebody has to lose.

But if we don't beat those durn Gators next year, I will have to do something disastrous!! :realmad:

Considering we didn't have run game or couldn't stop theirs. Therefore we didn't play good at all. If anything we played like crap and was within 1 point of a top 10 team.

I don't understand where these play well's are coming from. We did not play well. We got beat, and pushed around. Do you all tell yourself this for comfort?

If Tennessee would hit on all clyinders again we'd beat Florida by 2 touchdowns. No doubt in my mind. I'm not a negative fan I'm just one the calls em' like he sees them. I saw a lot of good things last night, but more bad than good.

Yes we lost and yes we have to find a way to stop the run and develope a running game of our own. Now with that said remember like them or not Florida is a damn good team and we played them toe to toe. We are a good football team and we will be a serouis contender for the SEC championship. It's one loss gang.

It is so that that a great program like Tennessee now has fans that pin their hopes of a good season on other teams to do their dirty work. You guys are better than that!

I'm not predicting the Vols to make the SECC but Florida is going to have to at least get to Atlanta post Spurrier before anyone is going to hand them anything. Meyer lost 3 conference games last year. Just because you guys are 1-0 are we just supposed to hand over the East to you? Come on, you guys are better than that.

What are you smoking? Our O Line is awful and our D line is very average. We are not winning the east unless a lot of young guys get really good really soon. I like the effort this team gives, much more disciplined and better looking than last year. But poor recruiting of and lack of developing lineman is going to hurt this team this year.

Are you guys actually happy with Meyer? I saw a Florida team beat a Tennessee team by one point that has one of the worst defenses I have seen from a Tennessee team in a long time. I am not talking smack because we lost, but I really am not impressed with Meyer's offense.

One thing that struck me last night was thinking about UT playing UF next year when the Gators come out with an Air Force-type offensive package with top caliber athletes. If UF has any success with it I imagine half the conference will be trying it withing a year or two. Coach Chavis needs to be thinking about a defensive package to stop the spread.

The SECE race is far from over. Florida likely will lose to either Auburn or LSU, if not both. And then we have UGA and 'bama. Now right now you'd probably have to say neither UGA nor 'bama is a top tier SEC team, what with their injury problems. But either is capable of beating Florida and so I agree with you Freak, this is hardly over.

Florida was great between the 30's. It was indeed odd that UT was up by ten at one point with Florida seemingly controlling the game the way it did. But hat's off to the Gator team for showing the strength of character to come back and win it in such a hostile environment.

I think you will see it a lot next year with Tebow. As you saw last night, that guy is not afraid to mix it up. He's big and strong. And he can also throw pretty well, though there was no cause of it last night.

hey, You don't usually go undefeated the next season after having a losing one. This is a sort of 'rebuiding' year, so let's not push the panic button over one game. We won't win them all but I know we will, at the very least, have a winning season which is better than last year.

Let's just hang in there and not throw in the towel.

Thats not exactly right. We are pretty realistic and if you watched any of the LSU-Auburn game and you know anything about football you are sure to realize that their game was alot more physical, athletic and a better representation of the way a SEC Champ looks.

I have to agree. I kept looking at our O Line at the end of the running plays and tried to understand why so many of them were standing up and the running back and half a dozen of the Gators were on the ground. I got the opinion they were holding their blocks for a 1 count and then stopped blocking. Very dissapointing:no: .
