It's amazing how most Mormons have absolutely no idea who the historical Joseph Smith really was.

I have a wife. I love her to death and she's great. That said, why in the world would anyone want more than one wife?

If one scoop of ice cream is good, two might be better.

Sex with multiple women, maybe?

JS is kind of unique though, as he is a "modern day prophet" that lived only 200 years ago. You can go look at court records, etc from before he was a "prophet".

my point exactly. if jesus was born 200 years ago i bet we'd know an awful lot of things that christians wouldn't be too happy about.

Yet, if the Mormons are any kind of benchmark, he would still have a 10 million member church worldwide. It's ridiculous.

A ten second muscle contraction is not worth the other 23 hrs and 50 seconds left in the day to deal with the issues of multiple wives.

Keep them separated.

It was probably easier back in the day when you could just beat up your old lady (or ladies) when they gave you lip.

I'm curious as to what you are referring to. BTW, Mormons believe he was called prophet at age 14. I am aware of a lot of the "dirt" anti-Mormons have on Joseph Smith. I grew up LDS but don't practice. It's not because I have a problem with Joseph Smith. I find any religion hard to believe.

IMO, if you are religious and bash Mormons for what you deem the ludicrous nature of their beliefs, you should probably take a step back and look at your own beliefs with new eyes.

"Battlefield Earth" sucked, so I'll vote for Smith, besides, the kids that come around on their bicycles are far less creepy than Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
