Ok ok... the coaching buzz is about over. It is time to get down and dirty. We have 17 days till signing day...

We have 16 commitments as of right now..

I know we are hoping to get some back, where do we go with the rest of our schollys..

someone earlier had the idea of lookin at kids that like UT but not the last staff, that would be a good place to start I guess. I wonder what Stone thinks of the new staff.

I think we have a chance to hold onto alot of our decommits so far.

I think we have all but lost Ambles. Guys like Dixon and Delvin Jones will be possible, but at this time I'd say 50/50. Calvin Smith will probably re-commit by mid-week. I'm keeping an eye on Ted Meline. If we lose Ambles, he is much more important to give us WR depth in this class. He was EE but is thinking about holding out to see if he likes the staff and the offensive philosophy.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Mahoney get some serious attention... someone mentioned Swilling Jr. the other day because he was also being recruited by Dooley at La. Tech...along with J. Wright (Dooley recruited him also)...

Just from a common sense perspective, I would think Dooley would lean heavily on the recruiters that have been on this years class the whole time...Thompson, Garza, and Chaney....my point being that a lot of pressure will be on the kids where LT, Garza, and Chaney were the primary recruiters...

If Thompson is Ambles main recruiter and he stays and I think he's going to,and we can get Ambles to visit before NSD I really believe we have a chance to keep him. I'm always optimistic.

A lot will depend on who comes in for a visit, the next two weeks. If the remaining coaches are smart, they would tell these current players to be very excited and positive about the new coach. If the current players would do that, then maybe it will get the recruits excited about coming here.

One thing to remember is most of these kids want the opportunity to play right away and granted some just want to be part of a winning program. Come down that last stretch count on some checking the committed list and seeing what competition is coming and already there. They can say no or maybe to UT now but it'll change when more about Dooley comes out and their chances at other schools.

I know if I were a recruit and saw the depth chart at a couple spots at Tennessee...I would take a hard look at UT. Considering when the kid walks on campus he is no lower than the guy who has been here for 2 years. Anytime you have a new coach.....you have to win the right to start at any given position. JMO

We have to go hard but at the same time realize that the Kiffin fallout may be too much of an obstacle to overcome this year. That said, I hope Dooley surprises them all and pulls a top 15er this year!
