Awesome to hit a HR on his last home game, and have old teammate Peyton there in the dugout to help him celebrate.

Another good recent pro sports Vol alum moment.

(I realize Helton was mainly a baseball player, but due to him also being a football player, and a teammate of Manning, I figured I'd put in the football forum).

in your defense, a horse isn't your normal parting gift. A watch or corvette maybe but not a horse unless you know the entire story.

Helton is one of the greatest Vols of all-time.

He has Hall of Fame numbers but I am afraid voters will hold playing at Coors Filed against him.

as a former baseball player, and fan of the game i can honestly....ive watched his game my whole life. looked up to todd. have his authograph from when i was a kid. helluva a ball player, happy for him. his swing was pure, and he had some great seasons.

but with a ton of great borderliners he wont make the hall. 1st, bball is the toughest to make. he deserves it but the fact he never won a championship and played in the steroid era will hurt him, as well he isnt an enigmatic character. which is bull****.

362 homers and 2500+ hits.

I have never seen him connected with PEDs.

He was on the rumored list that was leaked from 2003 but that list was from a very unreliable website that had a history of embellishing to get clicks on their website. It was later proven to be a false list because a few of the 104 players on the 2003 list were later legitimately exposed and some of those were not on the leaked list that included Helton's name.
Not saying he is clean or dirty but he was never directly or legitimately linked to steroids, only rumored by some bogus list.

2] Could have made a bunch of $ out of High School but came to UT

3] NEVER linked to roids, PEDS, HGH, etc. other than by the time period in which he played.

4] The best Colorado player ever - the Baseball HOF has his jersey in the Rockies exhibit [at least they did last summer]

5] Signed a cap for me as a New Haven Raven [vs. Harrisburg with Vlad Guerero and Bubba Trammel] "Go Vols - Todd Helton"
