Some things are inevitable in life, such as death and taxes, and that had me thinking about inevitability.

Now that we understand Resistance is futile, let go Into Darkness:

1) Tennessee will never hire its first coaching choice in any major sport. (I feel like Serrano is the exception that proves the rule, also, not sure college baseball is a major sport). Of course the AD will make a big deal out of this coach being the only one offered the job.

2) The top football recruit in state will grow up as anything but a Vol fan. Texas, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, etc, kids grow up idolizing the state school and will commit even if the school is loaded at that position. Tennessee can have zero running backs on the roster and Hurd will go to Bama.

3) At least 35+ times a year we will hear about the natural recruiting disadvantages Tennessee must overcome.

4) This is strictly an opinion, but I think losing on the Hill will continue until every vestige of Mike Hamilton has been completely erased.

5) Tennessee will craft coaching contracts that reward coaches jumping ship and makes it a financial nightmare to fire a coach.

6) Fans will scream that we need a running QB to win in the league now.

7) Fans will scream that we need a drop back, pro style QB to win in the league now.

8) A BBQ (or lack thereof) will cost someone a job.

9) We will never pass out of the wildcat

10) Rednecks turn orange in the Fall.

We will be watching the 98 championship game for the next 50 years, or until we win another one. We are the SEC equivalent of NC State.

I would settle for one that can jog very quickly.

8) A BBQ (or lack thereof) will cost someone a job.

Only Yankees use the term "A BBQ" when referring to a cookout. BBQ= pulled or chopped pork to true Southerners.

that talent will be an issue on the field, but yet, there is no need to worry about how good the prospects are that tennessee is recruiting compared to the competition they play.

1) I don't care if they get their first choice - this is not always the best option - i just care how good the option they end up getting is

2) since many times the top recruit is from Memphis area and TN is not overly popular in that area i get where this is coming from but considering we got the top player in 2012 (bowles), top player 2011 (tiny), top player in 2010 (Jsmith) -- this seems a bit over the top, even for you

3) people likely will say it but we also have the biggest budget in the SEC and the state is improving quite a bit from a recruiting standpoint

4) losing will continue until we find a quality coach - simple as that

5) Hart has already fixed that - no buyout for Pittman for ex, the newer contracts have fixed that glitch - also higher buyouts if they wanna jump early

6) and 7) probably right

8) no

9) dont care - prefer not to run it if we can get a good QB

10) ?

Its inevitable in life that every off season in the weeks before signing day we will dig deep for something to start a thread on. lol JK Rex:crazy:

11) Every signing day, we get to hear how faulty the star system is and how all our coach has to do is "coach them up", etc. etc.

Totally disagree with number 2. My son is a huge volunteer fan :)
