being a prolific passer and Gatorade National Player of the year in High School. He basically ran a spread system and I remember lots of posters here complained about his being a 'system' QB as he ran a spread offense. Now we are with Coach BJ possibly running spread and people start forgetting his abilities.
I like Peterman and think he will be a good QB too but I think next year Worley will be out starter. He doesn't have big arm like Bray but does have good vocal presence and leadership abilities. He is a great passer in spread offense and will give us more options in short passes which we didn't see past 2 years.
Lets go get Green as RB and with some good WR already waiting in wings we are good to compete again !!

I just hope we get Green and Bell

With some good WR recuits. I'll be one happy person and will help whoever the QB may be.

I don't think it really matters whether we forget about him or not. Butch Jones will evaluate him and Peterman and whoever else and determine who his guy is, regardless. That said, I would expect it to be someone other than Worley.

He has superbly sucked under Doofus the last 2 years but look at how much Crapton improved once Kiffin worked with him. So really who knows what we'll see out of him. Hope he does well, because that means UT does well.

Sucks based on what? Being thrown in against top 10 teams halfway through his freshman year?

Yes. He really didnt even show a flash of potential against any opponent, doesnt matter what they were ranked. Vandy isnt a top ten team either. Worley came in and did d!ck in that game behind one of the best o line and wr crews in the country. Worley sucks.

Since you're such a great evaluator of talent, why aren't you coaching at the UT? Amazes me how jackass so-called fans are so eager to punt our players before they're even been hiked. You live in Alabama, right? Go to your Crimson Tide forum where you belong because your blood certainly isn't orange.

Anyone with a brain can see our players in general weren't coached up. And I freely admit I kept denying that reality as a DD supporter until it was so painfully obvious, even I had to admit it. But unlike you, I wouldn't relish any and every chance to damn our players. You and I don't don practice unis and put in the sweat, pain, and hours. We don't don the game unis to be hit, slammed, and physically beaten up by opposing players. So we darn sure don't have what it takes to presume the venom you spew. You're in Alabama, stay there cause you don't belong here.

QB competition is good... let 'em all battle it out. way too early to declare who should start and who shouldn't. each team, each year is different... players will continue to develop... so let's sit back and enjoy the progression and cheer on whoever wins the job!

As a true freshman against the best D's in college football with an atrocious offense? He was 8 of 11 vs. Vandy not sure what you are talking about. I think Peterman is better, but I don't understand the writing off of Worley at all.

With Worley you have game experience, leadership qualities, an additional year of maturity, familiarity with the spread offense from HS forward, and a more than adequate arm that won state championships at the highest classification in HS playing against players such as Clowney. With Peterman you have big upside and more mobility - but absolutely nothing to prove any of it up because he did not play this year. So how can anybody in their right minds say that he is better? There is no basis for the statement whatsoever.

Let the coaches handle it. It will work itself out through practices and the early part of next season. At least Worley knows what to expect when he see Oregon and Florida line up. If Peterman blows it up in practice and they start him in the first game you will have the answer.

bUtch said we would have a Pro Style offense. He does not like the word Spread.

Also, I think Worley could win the starting job but I don't see him finishing the season as the starter. Peterman will take the job from him, at some point in the season.

I remember a lot of dink and dunk short routes and not really stretching the field. Anyone know how many times out of chances did Worley get us into the end zone? Curious.

Coaching matters!

Meacham was good his sophomore season but Trooper got him well over 1,000 yards his junior season and a 1st round draft selection.

Houston & Riggs were better when being coached by Trooper. Each had 1,000 yards and we went to the S.E.C. Championship game.

The 2011 offensive line was bad, but with Pittman the 2012 offensive line was great.

If we can land Green, Bell, North, Lawson, and maybe another rb and wr, Worley will be able to run this team perfectly IMO, kind of like Shaw for USCe, and McCarron for Bama, with some more running plays, if only our defense could step up like theirs as well.
