South Carolina had 3 turnovers, started drives inside their 10 three times, and had 10 penalties. We, on the other hand had a safety, started at least 2 drives on their side of the field, and could still only muster 15 points. We had a chance to drive for the winning score and couldn't even get in field goal range.

SC has one of the worst defenses in the SEC, however, we were outgained 307 to 271 and we had 99 yards passing. South Carolina had 17 first downs and we had 13. South Carolina didn't just beat us because the ball bounced their way, or because they got all the breaks. They beat us statistically and after having more penalties and turnovers than we did.

Talent wise, Tennessee is far superior. Unfortunately, SC had 2 good players who were fully utilized by their coaching staff to beat us - Ko Simpson (most of their big defensive plays including the pass defense on 4th down on our last drive) and Simeon Rice (who had both of their TDs). Our full roster of talented players was squandered again by our coaching staff.

I agree, that was the point I was trying to make.

If the coaching staffs had been flip-flopped lasst night, the VOLS would have won 50-3.

Chavis, Brooks and Caldwell are the only Tennessee coaches earning their salary. Trooper gets an honorable mention for his enthusiasm.

I'll agree with ya'll about the coaching stuff. Now let's not go over the statistics again,I'm at work and it's all I've heard about is the statistic and how bad the BIG ORANGE sux. I am still a HUGE VOLS fan but my wife has threatened to take all the belts shoe strings and Razors if Tn loses again. So I'm pulling for them
