I don't think I have come across any writer, including our "own" sports writers, that picked Tennessee to win. Most of them even had us losing by 10 to 14 points. The only consistent group to believe the Vols would win were the fans. It is nice to know that wins against top teams will become the norm again under Coach Heupel. We tied the 1998 National Championship team for most wins against ranked opponents in a season this year with 6 wins. It was a special season indeed!Jimmy Hyams. Always picks against us.
FYPHyams is perhaps the most dry and boring sports guy in radio. Not sure why so many bow down to this LSU fan. Also-he’s clearly lost his sources the last decade. That and being overly cautious about throwing out info means he’s covering stuff later in the news cycle. I get that if you’re maybe print media but this guy is just a man with a radio show and that’s it.
Why does it matter? They're making predictions. That's their job. Most had Clemson winning.
Predicting a loss is not the same as hoping for a loss. I'm not sure why that has to be said.
