Pearl was a guest on PTI last year during his run in the tourney with UW-Milwaukee, so I was just pleased that UT had hired someone I'd actually heard of and had seen before.

I didn;t have much to say on the subject at the time (apparently, since every thread I clicked on didn;t have a post from me), but I figured it would be Mike Anderson at first. Of course, the Nolan Richardson baggage was not good, and he never even offically interviewed, if I remember correctly.

At the time, I didn;t know much about Pearl, but he was the right hire.

I really do not keep up w bb. But I do know several friends in Wis. & surrounding area. Everyone was impressed w CBP. In any case I was glad to see UT's AD take a BOLD move to drastically improve UT BB.

It seems to be on track.

Coached youth bb for yrs. Last yr I coached after championship game Mr. ref whoes from somewhere up north walked by and called me coach Pearl I didn't know who or what he was talking about. At the time I didn't know if it was a complement or what. Now that I know this man [ PEARL ] how could it have been anything but. I'm going down to the gym this weekend to thank him and shake his hand rather he meant as one or not.
