Wow, I heard about the accident before I left for work this morning, but I hadn't heard it was that bad. Wow.

TMZ is reporting that the hospital has stated that Richardson is not brain dead. Looks like the NYP jumped the gun

Well, they had her on life support but took her off about 2 hours ago. Very strange and tragic story.

Maybe I shouldn't laugh at all the people on the slopes who wear helmets.

Sad! Great acting Family.

After the Sony Bono incident a few years ago,you would think it would be very well known, the merits of a helmet.

If you've ever seen "Love Actually", this will seem even sadder. He has to give the eulogy at his wife's funeral in the movie.
All I remember her from is the "Parent Trap".

Helmets on the slopes are going through the same cycle of acceptance as bicycle helmets. They will be the norm sometime soon and folks not wearing them will look silly.

I have a feeling it will be law in Colorado before too long. They are very comfortable and warm as well.

I've been skiing once without a helmet and that was when I was like 8yo. When I lived in Colorado I bought a helmet. They are warm, comfortable, keep you alive, and have vents for if your head gets too hot.

I just got back from Squaw and no one was wearing a helmet except the snow boarders.

Although after skiing in Boone I would recommend it.

After snowboarding for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I would definitely recommend the use of head protection. I wore one, and I used it. Look: it keeps you warm and dry and could save your life.

Bottom line: if involved in a sport that could result in a head injury, please protect your cranium.

One time when I was first learning to snowboard 7 or so years ago I took a pretty awful tumble and could have hurt myself pretty badly if I didn't have my helmet. It still shook me up something awful.
