I'm tired of "conservatives" getting tagged with the racism tag, let's look at some history. Before I start, I want to get some definitions down:
  • racism - a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
  • bigot - a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

In all possible ways, the Democrat Party is built around the pillars of ultra leftists, many of whom are known participants in racism and/or affiliates of racist hate groups. Consider the Democrat Party of today's heroes and leaders:

- Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Democrat icon and orchestrator of Japanese Internment
- Ex-House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, former affiliate of a St. Louis area racist group
- Ex-Senate President Pro Tempore Robert Byrd, former Ku Klux Klansman known for making bigoted slurs on national television
- Rev. Jesse Jackson, Democrat keynote speaker known for making anti-Semitic slurs
- Rev. Al Sharpten, Democrat activist and perennial candidate known for inciting anti-Semitic violence in New York City
- Sen. Ernest Hollings, leading Democrat Senator known for use of racial slurs against several minority groups
- Lee P. Brown, former Clinton cabinet official and Democrat mayor of Houston who won reelection using racial intimidation against Hispanic voters
- Andrew Cuomo, former Clinton cabinet official and Democrat candidate for NY Governor who made racist statements about a black opponent.
- Dan Rather, Democrat CBS news anchor and editorialist known for using anti-black racial epithets on a national radio broadcast
- Donna Brazile, former Gore campaign manager known for making anti-white racial attacks. Brazile has also worked for Jackson, Gephardt, and Michael Dukakis

The simple truth is that the Democrat Party's history during this century is one closely aligned to bigotry in a record stemming largely out of the liberal New Deal era up until the modern day. Bigots are at the center of the Democrat party's current leadership and role models. And in a striking display of hypocrisy, many of the same Democrats who dishonestly shout accusations of "bigotry" at conservatives are practicing bigots of the most disgusting and disreputable kind themselves.

Read more at the link: The Democrat Party’s Long and Shameful History of Bigotry and Racism

Also, here is study done around attitudes about Katrina victims (Natural Disasters in Black and White), in summary:

The Washington Post's Richard Morin reports on a study he conducted, along with Shanto Iyengar of Stanford University, that attempted to gauge whether people's attitudes toward Hurricane Katrina victims were colored by racial prejudice.

Participants in the study were asked to read an article about a Katrina victim called "Terry Miller," who could be either male or female; black, white or Latino (in the last case, he was renamed "Terry Medina"); and, if black, either light- or dark-skinned. Then they were asked to say how much government aid victims of the hurricane should receive, within a range of $200 to $1,200 a month and three to 18 months.

If race mattered, there would be a difference in the level of assistance favored by respondents who read an article about the white Terry Miller and the assistance favored by those who read about a black Terry Miller.

There was. People were willing to give assistance to a white victim, on average, for about 12 months.
But for an African American victim, the average duration was a month shorter while the amount of aid was nearly the same, meaning that blacks would collect about $1,000 less than white victims.

Guess what, approximately 2,300 people completed the experiment. As in their past studies, the sample was skewed heavily in the direction of Democrats and liberals--only 12 percent of the participants identified as Republican. Eighty-six percent were critical of President Bush's handling of Katrina. The sample was also highly educated--84% had completed at least a bachelor's degree.

I will continue to look for "Liberals are..." stories to post and push my shoe-is-on-the-other-foot agenda.

Don't forget the Libs hero Margaret Sanger, the mother of Planned Parenthood(which has been so prominant in the news of late) and a staunch proponent of Eugenics.

Margaret Sanger aligned herself with the eugenicists whose ideology prevailed in the early 20th century. Eugenicists strongly espoused racial supremacy and “purity,” particularly of the “Aryan” race. Eugenicists hoped to purify the bloodlines and improve the race by encouraging the “fit” to reproduce and the “unfit” to restrict their reproduction. They sought to contain the “inferior” races through segregation, sterilization, birth control and abortion. Seems like a guy named Adolf Hitler may have felt this way also.

Margaret Sanger,Founder of Planned Parenthood
In Her Own Words :

"The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
Margaret Sanger, Women and the New Race
(Eugenics Publ. Co., 1920, 1923)

On blacks, immigrants and indigents:"...human weeds,' 'reckless breeders,' 'spawning... human beings who never should have been born." Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people
On sterilization & racial purification:Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial "purification," couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.

On the right of married couples to bear children:Couples should be required to submit applications to have a child, she wrote in her "Plan for Peace." Birth Control Review, April 1932

On the purpose of birth control:The purpose in promoting birth control was "to create a race of thoroughbreds," she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)

On the rights of the handicapped and mentally ill, and racial minorities:
"
More children from the fit, less from the unfit -- that is the chief aim of birth control." Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

On religious convictions regarding sex outside of marriage:"This book aims to answer the needs expressed in thousands on thousands of letters to me in the solution of marriage problems... Knowledge of sex truths frankly and plainly presented cannot possibly injure healthy, normal, young minds. Concealment, suppression, futile attempts to veil the unveilable - these work injury, as they seldom succeed and only render those who indulge in them ridiculous. For myself, I have full confidence in the cleanliness, the open-mindedness, the promise of the younger generation." Margaret Sanger, Happiness in Marriage (Bretano's, New York, 1927)

On the extermination of blacks:"We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," she said, "if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." Woman's Body, Woman's Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America, by Linda Gordon

On respecting the rights of the mentally ill:In her "Plan for Peace," Sanger outlined her strategy for eradication of those she deemed "feebleminded." Among the steps included in her evil scheme were immigration restrictions; compulsory sterilization; segregation to a lifetime of farm work; etc. Birth Control Review, April 1932, p. 107

On adultery:A woman's physical satisfaction was more important than any marriage vow, Sanger believed. Birth Control in America, p. 11

On marital sex:"The marriage bed is the most degenerating influence in the social order," Sanger said. (p. 23) [Quite the opposite of God's view on the matter: "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." (Hebrews 13:4)

On abortion:"Criminal' abortions arise from a perverted sex relationship under the stress of economic necessity, and their greatest frequency is among married women." The Woman Rebel - No Gods, No Masters, May 1914, Vol. 1, No. 3.

On the YMCA and YWCA:"...brothels of the Spirit and morgues of Freedom!"), The Woman Rebel - No Gods, No Masters, May 1914, Vol. 1, No. 3.

On the Catholic Church's view of contraception:"...enforce SUBJUGATION by TURNING WOMAN INTO A MERE INCUBATOR." The Woman Rebel - No Gods, No Masters, May 1914, Vol. 1, No. 3.

On motherhood:"I cannot refrain from saying that women must come to recognize there is some function of womanhood other than being a child-bearing machine." What Every Girl Should Know, by Margaret Sanger (Max Maisel, Publisher, 1915) [Jesus said: "Daughters of Jerusalem, weep... for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed (happy) are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the breasts which never gave suck." (Luke 23:24)]

I really need to go find some quotes from the 1930s from conservatives about lynching some blacks to rebut this?

Thread needs to die.

Iggy Pop tells it straight in "I'm a Conservative"

I used to lead a quiet life
In fact it was a bare existence
I passed out on many floors
I don't do that any more

Hello my friends
Is everybody happy?
Hey look me over
Lend me an ear
I'm a conservative

I like the small black marks on my hands
I'm a conservative
I like the crazy girls that I screw
Hey I know them all well

And when I run out of bread I laugh
All the way to the bank
Sometimes I pause for a drink
Conservatism ain't no easy job

I smile in the mornings
I live without a care
Nothing is denied me
And nothing ever hurts

I got bored so I'm making my millions
When you're conservative you get a better break
You're always on the rigltt side
When you're conservative

You walk with pride
Pride is on your side
Pride pride pride
Is on our side
Oh boy
Pride is on our side

I like my beer
I like my bread
I love my girl
I love my head

I'm in the clear man
I'm in the dear
Because I'm a conservative
I'm a conservative
I really am
Ohyeslam

And it would mean so much to me
If you would only be like me
Yes it could mean so much to me

Hey look me over
Lend me an ear
I'm a conservative

Growing up and living in the south for most of my life, I can say I have heard the "n" word far too often. I can honestly say that > 90% of the people I have heard say it, espouse conservative ideology.

I'd say 90% of the people I've heard call honkeys "cracker" espouse democratic philosophy...

I didn't say anything about democrats or republicans. I said conservative. Democratic isn't an ideology, it's a political party. There are plenty of older, retired people that espouse a conservative ideology yet belong to the democrat party.

Nice try though:good!:

I NEVER heard the word growing up in TN (except black kids throwing it around). I moved to Utah at 16 and heard it all the time (my best explanation is there aren't many blacks here, so they treat it lightly).

  • racism - a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
  • bigot - a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

Is it inherently wrong to be a bigot? Using your definition, it would appear that virtually all of us are bigots, and me doubly so. Liberals condemn conservatives = bigotry. Conservatives condemn liberals = bigotry. Me condemns 'em both = double bigot.

Are liberals more hypocritical about it? Yes and no. They like to pretend that they are openminded, unless it means opening their mind to someone who is religious (among other things). Conservatives are more open about their bigotry. For example, most tend to be very anti-homosexual. Their hypocrisy stems from claiming to be christian (for the most part) and then hatin' on people. (I am not saying it is wrong to hate homosexuality, but it is wrong to hate homosexuals.)
