Like it or not Ohio State is the best football team we’ve played all year.

Ohio State looked like the great Georgia and Alabama teams that just out classed us over the last decade. They were bigger and faster than us at every position, and it was obvious looking at the players lined up on the field. I don’t think we could’ve beat them in Knoxville. It makes me sick to admit this but Ohio State is better than any SEC team this year. I think they’re gonna win it all.

Lets wait and see what happens. It could be that TN made them look a lot better than they are. This is the same OSU team that put up 10 pts and lost to a 5 loss MI team and whose fans gave up on them.

OSU is good but I think last nights debacle was due more to TN not showing up and being ready to play.

I think it’s both. OSU will get their revenge on Oregon in the Rose Bowl and their semifinal matchup vs Texas (who I think will roll Arizona State) will be epic. I think Texas squeaks that one out only because the game will be in Dallas.

Ryan Day has taken heat for good reason. I think Ohio State is the most talented team we have played but not sure about best overall. I haven't seen enough of Oregon. I do think Ohio State, with A game, could beat Georgia, with A game. However, Kirby Smart is likely to iut coach Ryan Day.

They are really good.

We (as usual) made them look even better than they are.

This is what we still do as a program: When an opponent is in turmoil or there’s a lot of guessing as to how they’ll handle it, the Tennessee VOLS almost always serve up a “get well” game for them and their coaching staff. This is why I was very uneasy with OSU coming off a head-scratching loss and their coach being under heavy criticism. We just don’t put our boots on the enemy’s collective neck (so to speak). We tip-toe into the game and either get thrashed or manage to lose a close one. Real contenders win their fair share of these tough contests. We don’t win them. At all . . . going back to the last several years of the Fulmer era. Even Butch *should* have had a three year winning streak against UF, but we found ways to blow that chance.

We just aren’t real championship contenders. It’s a combination of talent deficient (we still haven’t fixed our O-line problems dating back to the Dooley era AND our WRs seem to be overmatched against top defensive completion) and a cultural shortfall that manifests in the team folding under the big lights.

They certainly manhandled us in the trenches and from that standpoint looked like the best team we played.

I also think though that they were able to find some weaknesses on tape of us defensively and exploit them. They constantly had guys schemed wide open into the soft spots of our zone. I'm not sure how much that will translate to the next game.

The fact of the matter is B1G is in a better spot to win Championships now than SEC for a variety of reasons.

1. They are making more money which means they are winning NIL fights like Michigan buying that QB away from LSU

2. The bottom of the BiG knows it place. You didn't see Purdue or Northwestern knocking off top B1G teams like you saw with Arkansas beating Tennessee, Vandy beating Alabama, and Kentucky beating Ole Miss. That hurt SEC playoff setup

3. TV contract and 9 game conference schedule helps BIG.

But the Ohio State - Michigan kind of like the times Ala won the title but somehow couldn’t beat Auburn for some stupid reason. Is what it is.

They have an absiolutely elite defense, especially the secondary, 2 fantastic RB's and an elite of the elite WR's...... Jeremiah Smith is just "different" and a talent that hasn't been seen since maybe Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss.

OSU was mocked for its terrible play against Michigan. For two weeks they heard how bad they were. Apparently everyone in Orange believed it. We went in expecting to see them looking like the team that lost to Michigan. They spent the last two weeks focusing on our weaknesses and channeling their anger. We thought it would be an ordinary game. By game time, they were ready to destroy somebody, and we were a convenient target. The question is, can they play like that three more times? If they do, they will win the championship.

When Oregon beats them, again, you’ll be signing a different tune lol. The truth is we would have lost to OSU, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, most likely penn state. We just didn’t belong this year like it or not.

I thought that going into the game. I would much rather been the 10th 11th or 12th seed. I never thought we had a chance in this game. The other 3 hosts wouldn't worry me at all. Ohio State should have been the 5th seed or at least higher than PSU

They lost to the #1 seed by one on the road and to their biggest rival whom their coach has a complex against. The Rose Bowl is the NC game

#4 is good for 14 points a game if they continue to use him like they did last night

Oregon isn't beating OSU twice. Oregon defense sucks and it isn't early season anymore. They will be pissed off again to play that game. Jeremiah Smith may have 200 yards at halftime

OSU's A game likely beats anyone else's A game but that's been Day's issue. His A games are few and far between.

Last night, y'all simply ran into a buzz saw. OSU had weeks to stew over the loss to Michigan and were out to prove something. It was in their place and played in conditions that gave them an edge and the name Tennessee and your success on the field was enough to get every kid on the team to take the game seriously. Throw in the Neyland north and goal post route to the river stuff and you knew the crowd would be amped.

It just wasn't a great time to draw OSU in Columbus.

Totally agree...... How can you not use those WR's against Michigan like they did last night.... Smith was only targeted 1 time in the 2nd half and maybe 4 x in the game..... It was all smash mouth FB going into the middle of the line over and over again. And Michigans DB's were not nearly as good as ours..... Totally mindboggling and makes no sense at all. That's all on the coaches. If they would have played their normal game they would have won by 40 points. I think we would have easily handled that crappy Michigan team.

We will see, OSU implemented the same offense scheme as UGA did against UT, which apparently is UTs Achilles heal, they just cant figured out how to stop it. So UGA looked like world beaters against UT and then scored 6 points against Georgia Tech through the first three quarters the following week. I think it is a UT problem, particularly against UT on the road.

I would sure hope so since they beat our asses unlike any other team we've played this year.
