Limit Contact In Practice?

The time limit put on college coaches probably negates this idea.

Not only that, but NFL teams (And high school teams for that matter) have pre-season games/scrimmages. College teams doesn't have that luxury. I think having full contact practice periods are a necessity at the college level.

A lot of injuries don't even involve contact.

I don't believe anybody even touched Gaulden when he broke his foot.
Jackson and Sanders bicep tendon tears are probably a strength and conditioning issue rather than an actual practice/contact issue.

I agree. I know its risky, but so is playing the game. Its like VFL34 said in another thread, you gotta be prepared for getting hit by an sec all American, or it'll shake you up in the game.

Do professional football players need a lot of full contact practice? Most have been playing over half their lives. College coaches often have to teach techniques and the game is a lot different then high school.
