Callahan is done, and it's going to be hard to replace him, as the fanbase wants the Option back...doesnt have the personnel, so a rough start for sure.

Fran hasn't played Texas or Oklahoma, so you can't call him done yet.

On a side note, how about the Fighting Manginos undefeated so far. I like him, glad to see some success in Lawrence. Plus, i made a $300 future bet on them finishing over 6.5 wins, so barring an absolute debacle, i'm in big

I would take Solich's Ohio team over this Nebraska team. While I do agree he got screwed out of a job I don't think that the old school Nebraska style option can work in college football anymore because of team speed. Then again Florida, WVU, USF, LSU, etc doesn't get stopped with the spread option.

Also, I heard a rumor that Keller was transferring once again, anyone else heard this. It's probably unlikely, but who knows.

Maybe, maybe not . . . but if Johnson got the Nebraska job, Defensive Coordinators all over the Big 12 would immediately start reaching for a bottle of Jack Daniels.

I heard he was wanting to get yet another year of eligibility. It's probably untrue, just thought that I would mention. I'd heard a couple days back and then today I was reading somewhere else and it come up again so maybe there is truth to it.

I agree completely. That triple option they ran worked and Solich was the only one in the country who could coach it.

Nebraska lost so bad that the story about the game is linked at the top of the Drudge Report.

anyone got any news on Callahan after today? Take it for what it's worth, but I really have a friend who worked in UNL's athletic dept, and the initial message I got was both Pederson and Callahan were gone. Is there anyway Callahan survives this, is he gone as well, or are they just keeping him until the end of the year?

if he's gone, any chance Pelini goes back to UNL? After the way he stormed out after his "interview" to replace Solich, I would have to think no way, but maybe someone on here knows more than I do. Of course, as someone who wants Pelini in Orange when Fulmer leaves, I'm concerned about this.

The AD got axed today

I guess I should have mentioned that. ESPN is reporting only Pederson, the AD, got axed. My friend texted me before I saw it on ESPN that both Pederson and the coach was gone. Can't get ahold of said friend now, hence why i'm asking

Seeing as that I live right in the middle of this s**tstorm known as the current Big 12, I laugh at all the moping Nebraska fans around here, while I cry every time some cocky MU, KU, or K-State fans see me wearing orange and makes sure I know they are ranked ahead of mighty UT in the polls. Unfortunately, there are more of the latter fans around here. I quietly inform them that they would be 4th place or so if they were in the SEC, which pisses them off quite effectively.

It would not be possible for him to play in college next year
