Are playing in the 2016 Rio Olympics on foreign teams!

I caught a few minutes of Harding a Duke alum on the Belurus squad. She still is playing out of control, turnover prone, missed free throws and bricks. For the life of me how on earth did she ever get a spot on a foreign team?

But Latoya Pringle who is going by her married name of Sanders played exceptionally well for her Turkey squad. She's the only black woman on her team that goes for Lindsey, also. As soon as I saw her I was like she looks familiar. But the game announcers were calling her Larss(?) Sanders. So I was confused at first. It looked like the Pringle who played for the Tar Heels but her name was different. As the game wore on the announcers stated her name correctly. All I can say is she played great and her team won.

I think Becky Hammon who played for the 2012 Russian team (might be wrong about the foreign team) opened up opportunities for other American players to take advantage of playing in the Olympics.

Lets face it UConn has great players that are deserving to be on the Olympic team. But that one UConn player who could had waited was Breanna Stewart.

Becky Hammon did play for Russia the last Olympics, and she caught a lot of grief for it! I am not positive, but I think Katie Douglas played once for the Greek national team (after she married a Greek), though they didn't make it to the Olympics.

Becky Hammon was absolutely screwed by the US selection committee. League MVP runner up the previous year, and she wasn't even included in the list of 23 players that would be considered for a USNT spot.

And here we are 8 years later, and they haven't learned a damn thing.

It really puts things in perspective when a former All-American has a better chance at making a Turkish or Belarussian National Team than it is at making the Connecticut Olympic Team.

Stewie could have waited? come on... we all know the top college player always get put on the team. and she's producing at that and not just sitting on the bench as a "symbol"

The top college player didn't get put on the team in 2012. Swin Cash and Ashja Jones did instead. Anyone remember where they went to college?

Brittany Griner was invited but she declined citing her mother's need for her to be home because of her illness.
