Saw where Linnae Harper is visiting Tennessee next weekend. Will she not lose a year of eligibility if she transfers within the SEC? How does this really work?

I think that a player has to sit out a year for a transfer and Kentucky may not let her transfer to a SEC team if they don't want to

She is visiting next week and for whatever reason Kentucky gave her a full release to go anywhere she wants. It must have been a run off as they usually don't want you transferring to a SEC school. I think she would be a junior next season.

a full release is unusual for sure,it makes you wonder why there were no restrictions

NCAA rules say that she has to sit out a full year. SEC rules might also state I believe that she has to sit out a year off scholarship and still maintain academic standing before she can play. So, the question is whether she can be put on scholarship immediately or not. But, she still has to sit out a year I believe.

I read where Matthew stated if someone was not happy he felt they should get a full release so they could go wherever they wanted. Something like they had been part of the Ky family and he wanted them to be happy. Don't know if this is really his practice, just what I read...and we all know "if you find it on the internet.....":p.

Do we need a bench player with 2 years eligibility left, rather then try to sign a really good freshman for 4 years?

Considering we don't have any freshmen next year, yes. And she wouldn't be a bench player.

Just came out that Kyvin Goodin-Rogers is leaving UK as well.

UK down to ten players, but I don't think they will miss her much other than as added frontcourt depth.

Akhator is playing like the one who got away.

I'm worried that she is going to dominate our post players when we play them.

She's bigger than Graves and from what I've seen of UK so far, she's more physical and more skilled than Russell. Kentucky is by no means a gimme...especially with Thompson and Epps in the backcourt.
