Have posted before I am a VFL who had going to Neyland as one of my bucket list wishes. On my birthday (67) my children and grandchildren presented me with tickets to our home opener with AP. Depends what you want to do before or after. I usually tell people without a parking pass to drive down into old city and park next to Barley's Taproom and park there free, and ride the shuttle over to the corner of Phillip Fulmer way and Cumberland, it lets you off right there and picks you up right there afterwards and only costs a few dollars to do so. Barleys Taproom has a nice atmosphere and good food and drinks too if you're into that beforehand or after since you're already right there. If you need any other suggestions feel free to ask, but this is what i usually recommend.

Based on past experiences at other events, Uber will be next to impossible after the game…and if you are lucky to get one, the price will likely be jacked sky high. Too many people vying for two few rides.

Maybe it’ll be different in Knoxville, but I doubt it.

I would drive in. Driving in, with a bit of preparation and research if you've never gone before, is fine. Also, it's Austin Peay, which no offense, isn't going to draw as big a crowd as the major games, so things will be lighter all around. Gives you a bit more wiggle room with respect to finding a solution.

Also, if parking close to campus feels intimidating, there's a number of satellite shuttle options. I want to say that KAT runs shuttles from some garage pickup points, for example, and I know for a fact that there are some companies that run shuttles from out-of-town locations onto campus. Again, it just takes a bit of research. I'm sure some others here can volunteer more information on places to park and make your way in.

Whatever you do, don't do Uber. Ubers going out of big events are a crapshoot all around. Ubers after football games with 100,000 fans leaving? Ugh. Just ugh.

Austin Peay will be close to a sellout and 5pm game.

Drive yourself and park on one of the side streets off of Cumberland ave. Arrive early and crash a tailgate.

My wife and I almost always stay in the Cedar Bluff area (Market Place). I would suggest driving in and not by interstate. Take Middlebrook Pike. It's a 4 lane road that's much, much less congested and a nice drive as well. It's a right turn to get to downtown and easy access to Locust Street Garage ($20 dollars cash). If you take the Cedar Bluff exit, turn left, and you'll go about 2 miles before you run into Middlebrook Pike (right turn to campus).

At one time, there was a shuttle that ran from Farragut High School, to Neyland stadium.
Farragut is about 5 minutes west of Cedar Bluff.
Does anyone know if this is still the case?

Yep, and you can eat at Aubrey’s on the way.

Agreed with the above answer from Enki 100% for a first timer.

Parking at the Civic Center is $10. Easy in and out.

The shuttle busses are $10 round trip and let you out and pick you up really close(couple minute walk) to the front gate and all the activities.

After the game the bus takes you back to your car

If it's raining the Civic Auditorium Parking decks are good enough for tailgating high and dry with the rest of us

Happy Birthday and God Bless Josh Heupel

Parkside grill, Abridged, Tennessee tap house, Aubrey’s, are all recommendations for eating.
If you’re in the cedar bluff area, there is a good chance you are within a parking lots walking distance of all of those except for Aubrey’s.

I worry about Barleys because Jackson avenue is closed just past barleys, due to stadium construction.
So the only in and out is directly through the old city! That could get very congested.
What do you think?

That shuttle from Market Square is so easy once you figure it out.

Thanks for all this info. My wife and I are coming down for the A&M game on Oct. 14, and I was going to start a thread looking for the same info. We're staying in Cedar Bluff, and I was planning on driving in early on Saturday and parking - obviously, game time isn't known at this point, hoping for 3:30.
