With the way he's playing I'd be happy to just get 3 yrs outta him....dont see him there for 4 yrs.

Unless he wants to try for a championship. Of course, we might get that this year. :biggrin2:

I dunno how much the NBA will be interested in him, honestly. The NBA loves one on one play, and guys who set up their own shots. Lofton looks for his shot within the offense.

We'll see.

Yeah but we're talking all American here. I think Chris will make 1st team SEC but not all-American... At this point in the season anyways. Who knows, if he really gets on fire and stays that way.

IMO he will need to be 1 or 2 in scoring in the SEC and UT will need to go deep into the NCAA tournament. Going into this week he was tied for 4th in scoring. after 2, 30+ scoring games he's probably close to 2nd in the league, so yeah its a possibility.

Maybe not this season, but the original question was will he be an all-american by the time he graduates? I think he will be.

I checked the stats. Lofton isn't in the top 50 in scoring currently. So this year probably unlikely.

but he is on a team that is going to be in the top 10 in the new polls, and he dosent take 24-30 shots like the rest of the people in the ncaa on that list. could you imagine if lofton would have taken 20+ shots today? he would have dropped 50 points easily.

He might have to before this season's all said and done.

I think he'll stay the 4 years, and he could easily be an AA, even this year if he continues lighting it up he could make 2nd team no problem.

i don't know about all american, but for a guy that many said couldn't play he's one of the best i've seen at TN in a long time. i think he could be a first teamer by his senior year.

Official NCAA Stats require at least 2.5 made per game to be listed on Official NCAA Stats

at which Lofton is 17th

He's got one heckuva quick release, and he takes VERY difficult shots. After his performance yesterday, you've GOT to give him some serious props. If he were only about 3-4 inches taller, he'd be an NBA star.

Sometimes it just seems like Lofton has a radar lock on the rim. Some of the shots he makes with players right up in his face are amazing.

I was watching him warm-up before the Vandy game and he just goes around the arc like he's playing horse and doesn't move from a spot until he makes it. Needless to say, he hardly ever gets stuck in a spot.

I think I counted 15 threes in a row before he missed one and that was with everyone else shooting at the same time. He can make those shots with 5 or 6 different balls flying to the rim at the same time.

He's a seriously gifted shooter.
