I think they were hammered at home by Charlotte.... if I remember correctly.

Yeah. Bad loss IMO. W. Carolina's record makes them sound a lot better than they are. They got hammered by Texas earlier in the season. Poor Pitino and the Cards could go for a 5 loss OOC record and below 500 in the BE.

Is it just me, or do 95% of your posts reference Pearl bashers? :dunno:

I would go with something around 98.8%, but who's counting. :whistling:

As for the game, Louisville is reeling. Sosa has always been a streaky player, but has not played up to his billing since his freshman season. They have some serious issues.

That said, I hope we lay a beating in the neighborhood of 30 at Rupp. Word on the UK boards is that the entire student section will wear blond wigs, in honor of his Mistress. (Sypher)

ha, even our illustrious website provider must feel my posts are too long to read :)

I usually talk about the SEC, other teams, our team, coaches I like, people I do not like (a certain idiot AAU coach in Memphis) etc.

I do not care to go back and read all my posts, but early I loved football recruiting most, then I moved over to the basketball forum. I was bashed along with Pearl, you made a no name calling rule and I have enjoyed lots of conversations since.

Somehow I am brought up and into threads I did not create with some regularity, but it's all good.

The SEC is going to have a very good year in bball, and may end up as the third best conference. TN is going to have a great year in bball.

The only way people can bash Pearl is if the team struggles, and as a fan I am rooting against that.

I did make a thread asking about where Pearl rates. Almost everyone on here who fancies themself an expert said that Pitino is a great coach and Pearl is nowhere near his level. That is why his struggles make me laugh.

That and I despise a guy who bangs a girl in a restaurant and then pays to terminate his unborn child, but that is just me.

Yea man, you have to be loving it. Looks like Cal is going to stick it to Pitino this year.

Its a game where deep down as a fan, completely bypassing sportsmanship and fair play, you want to keep the pedal to the metal until the horn sounds. Pasting a good 30 point win on the filthy Cards is always something UK fans slobber over.

Currently I must say, I have no problem with it.

hahahah classic. Curious about the UK/UL rivalry. Is it that Pitino went there after the NBA, the close distance, or something else that happend. Always wondered about that but every cat fan I've asked has just said, "Because it's Louisville, what's not to hate" haha

This is my best unbiased summation of the average blue bleeding Kentucky fan.

Its a mixture of several things, but this one really means more than most, as odd as it sounds. UT folks might have to place it in terms of a football rivalry to get the idea. The normal die hard Kentucky fan views Louisville as "little Brother", which they are so affectionately named.

In their mind, (and rightly so, more often than not) Kentucky has always been superior to UL, in every way shape and form. Sure your FROM Louisville, but why like a school like that over your own state school?

When Pitino left for the NBA, I personally was not mad at him, though I was dissapointed. I loved the man through and through, and continued to follow him in the NBA. His draft picks each season, and so forth.

It was when he announced he was going to the "inferior little Brother" that everyone flipped. Lots of people felt betrayed, as though he should never have the audacity to do such a thing. IMO, it was not JUST because it was "louisville", but because everyone knew in their minds that Louisville would no longer be the doormat that they had been for so long. Like it or not, and though they would never admit it, the fear of Louisville rising to the height of UK in the 90's under Rick absolutely scared everyone to death.

Don't get me wrong, UK has always hated Louisville and will continue to do so until the end of time. But when Little Ricky went to UL, the whole world as this state knew it was turned upside down.

So instead of rationalizing anything, instead everyone just hates his guts and Louisville that much more.

This is all just my speculation, of course. :)
