In the KNS today it said "circumstances" will prevent the leadoff banquet

Let me tell you what that really means....no one was gonna go....Raleigh has driven this program in the ground and no one cares

Hamilton has to be pissed...those banquets raise a good amount of money for the program...he should've let go of his boy Raleigh at least 2 years ago

LMAO.....should be a GREAT year for Raleigh!

SecondYear,

Sorry man....this is gonna be Raleigh's worst team.....they don't even have a true Friday night guy this year....the pitching is gonna REALLY struggle without McCray and Crnkovich who were good last year

Lose Hawn, Forsythe, and Polk at the plate which is a ton of production

This DEFINITELY will be Raleigh's last yr

The banquet was canceled because the guest speaker, a former major league player and manager, canceled the week before Christmas. That person had been booked for about four months. Two potential replacements wanted a fee that was double what the UTAD normally spends, due to the short notice. It would have lost money even with a record turnout with what the replacement speakers asked for.

I won't dispute the Raleigh stuff, that's just beating a dead horse. I can't agree with "at least two years ago" because that would have been after his first year, and I can't agree with that. After his second year, either. After last year, I can't defend him still being coach, other than it being a financial decision.

My point is, the banquet cancellation and Raleigh being a coaching problem are completely independent of each other.

let's see, i predict 22-34 regular season, and 10-20 in the sec, and of course no sec tournament appearance. don't worry fans, this is his last season. i don't expect college world series titles or even sec titles, just to be in the show every year. no reason nor to be, we have been before. i was a big supporter of vol baseball until they hired him. i'm not a fair weather fan, but i just hate the state out team is in now.

Coach Lawson will be good for the program, he also could be the next HC....just sayin.

I was wrong, the program could get worse.

He may be a hell of guy, but we have already tried the Diamond in the Rough plan and it failed.

If you're going to get fans interested, you're going to need a Division 1 coach with some past success. MAYBE, an important assistant on a national champion level team.

Not a division 2 (or lower) coach with limited success and not another reject from the Jack Leggett Coach of the Month club.

Y'all need to dump that loser as soon as the season is over with.

And sadly, any time from here on will be too late. Delmonico left the program in better shape than Raleigh will.
