Did anyone see that ? It was a great documentary.. What a coach won a state championship with a basketball team and didnt know a thing about basketball.. ha.. did strike me that his signature play was the power sweep and that it was ran with perfection. He kept it simple with fundamentals.

it watched it and yes, it was very good.

his career shows how it's hard to have a true passion for something without having all your chips in the pot. he choose football over everything, including family, and couldn't even live 'normally' without it in his life. that's not to say he was necessarily a bad guy, that's just one of the themes i took from the doc.

*spoiler*

the part about the 8 hour coaching seminar on one play, i think the one you mentioned, was astonishing.

Didn't see that (don't have HBO), but highly recommend his biography, When Pride Still Mattered, if you have about 3 months to invest into a book.

Sounds like it covered the same stuff.

made me think about Oregons offense. Not too dynamic just run the same plays to perfection...
