At least in terms of basketball, the Gators are pretty much going to shut up for awhile now. Especially if Donovan leaves for UK or, more likely in my opinion, the NBA.

UT's stock rising now.

Thanks for picking us all up. We feel great now.

I guarantee you that next year, when Florida struggles to make the NIT, there will be a lot of folks on here pretty happy that this group of guys is long gone.

Florida will still be in it. Tennessee will still be roughly the same quality team as last year, Kentucky is still a few years away from regaining former glory, and back-to-back titles is still going to bring talent to Florida, possibly even regardless of Donovan's presence as head coach.

I suppose that Florida could always go out and find themselves the next Oden. But then Donovon learned a lesson with Kwame Brown. I guess with the age limit thing, there's some more guarantee of a year of geting the guy to play. Still, I imagine that Donovan is now firmly committed to recruiting guys he thinks he can develop a bit before they bolt.

Well, what do we have left? Speights? He's going to be good, but he's one guy. After him, we're empty set.
obviously, i don't think FL will be NT worthy next year, but to say that the NIT is a foregone conclusion....well, let's just say i'm skeptical. i can't believe UF doesn't have any other young guys capable of coming in next season........

and who knows, maybe one or two of those Jrs. stick around? you never know.

I'm afraid he's right. And I don't see any reason for any of them to stick around.
I'm not saying that to be harsh, I just don't see the personnel. Honestly, they could finish last in the East next year. Absent a surprise from one of the juniors not named Joke Kim Ghandi, they are starting from square one.

is that enough to make CBD really consider KY??

I really don't think that will be a factor. It comes down to whether or not Kentucky is a dream job to him. If it is, he leaves. If not, he stays in Gainesville.

No, no, I didn't take it as harsh. I agree that Florida is really thin if everyone leaves and I assume that they will. Donovan will get a lot out of what he has but as of right now he doesn't have much.

And that assumes he's still there.

Personally I think he'll go to the NBA. I really think he's gone. But not UK. I just would be really surprised by that. But, I don't know the guy personally, so who knows.

... And if he stays in Gainesville, Florida brings in a boatload of talent.

He's had teams loaded with high school all americans and flamed out in the first round on multiple occasions. The prospect of Donovan staying at Florida doesn't scare me.

We're gonna have a huge class in 2008. He won't have the talent we have coming soon. Florida's stock will not rise anymore for a long time. Tennessee's stock will skyrocket in the near future.

What about Vandy?

Vandy's irrelevant next year...

"Billy McCaffrey isn't walking through those doors...Ronnie Macmahan and Drew Maddux aren't walking through those doors...Will Perdue, Pax Whitehead and Eddie Fogler aren't walking through those doors."

That's my impression of Kevin Stallings doing his impression of Rick Pitino addressing the Boston media...sorry, I had quite a bit to drink tonight.
