Understatement and every year our schedule is brutal.

That's why we play in the SEC.

Does SEC really mean Schedule Equals Courageous?

Hopefully teams will soon see us on their schedule and talk about what a tough game it will be. Kinda like I did yesterday when I was watching Oklahoma.

Agreed. But not every SEC schedule is equal. Compare ours vs Vandy's..... they didn't play one loss teams Bama & Auburn, we did. Of course we didn't play a 4 loss Texas A&M or a 5 loss Ole Miss team, and they did.

While we're at it, throw in their toughest OOC game, either UMass or WakeForest and compare it to our Oregon matchup.... it all adds up to Vandy headed to a bowl game while UT sits at home.

You forgot to mention that all we needed to do was beat Vandy to go to a bowl...their schedule is not relevant because they beat us

You're exactly right. Vandy only beat 1 team this season with a winning record ( GA) and is going bowling. We would have been 6-6 at worst with their schedule and probably 7-5 or 8-4. Schedule's do matter!

You're right to a some extent. But there's no doubt that the difference in strength of schedule has helped feed the narrative that we're a grease fire and Franklin is a genius. Flip the schedules and we're just merely down and Franklin is successful only by Vandy standards.

Having ALabama and Auburn as west opponents this year along with Oregon OOC is like a scheduling joke.

It's part of the curse that Bama, Auburn and Oregon were so good this year (even though Oregon proved to be not as good as everyone originally thought). We are cursed I tell you!

Didn't expect Auburn and Missou to be as good as they were/are...otoh, didn't expect to beat USCe either. Guess you never know. VT will probably be a pre-season #1 for battle at Bristol.

Fully aware that if we had beaten Vandy we're in a bowl game. Was responding to a poster about SEC scheduling. Didn't forget to mention anything.

Why schedule out of conference games like Oregon and Oklahoma when no one else in the SEC does anything comparable?

Cause the administration is clueless. They don't want to go to a bowl game. Having the number one strength of schedule means nothing if you can't at least get to a bowl. They continue to negotiate these outrageous games is what kills me.

Yeah and if we would have played UMass instead of Oregon this year we would have been going to a bowl. The issue isn't about loosing to Vandy but about the scheduling.

Understatement of the year. We played 4 teams that ended up in the top 10 all in a row. Every single one of them was just as good as the other. And that's not even including Oregon or Georgia.

And our streak of playing a team that ends up in the NC game continues.... It's happened every year since 2006.

Some on here have wondered why take on schools like Or and OK? We always have and we always will. This is big Orange country. We will play anyone and we won't always be down, so to the out of conference teams that beat us; laugh now while you have a chance.

Ummmm, yeah they do....

Bama played Va Tech this year Michigan last year
Auburn played Wash St this year Clemson last year
UGa played Clemson this year, GT every year
LSU played TCU this year Oregon last year
SC plays Clemson every year
UF played Miami this year, FSU every year

We're not the only ones.
