Legend - Peyton Manning (1994-1997)
The one who won it all - Tee Martin (1998-1999)
Underrated - Casey Clausen (2000-2003)
Experiment gone wrong - Brent Schaeffer (2004)
Solid - Erik Ainge (2004-2007)
Disaster - Rick Clausen (2005)
Lolz - Nick Stephens (2008)
Mixed Bag - Johnathan Crompton (2008-2009)
Disaster #2 - Matt Simms (2010)
Talented but undisciplined - Tyler Bray (2010-2012)
Band-Aid - Justin Worley (2013)
Disaster # 3 - Nathan Peterman (2013)
TBD - Joshua Dobbs (2013)

------------------------

It's comical to look back and see how many misses there are here - Brent Schaeffer, Rick Clausen, Nick Stephens... Peterman. While I love Worley's attitude, determination, and overall character - he's not the answer long-term either.

While Bray was a fantastic talent, I'd argue that the last time the QB position was a team strength was all the way back to Clausen.... 10 years ago. Does Dobbs have the poise that made Iceman so dangerous?

Bray was such an interesting QB. Scores a 10/10 in raw talent. Scores a 2/10 in intangibles. Take that intangible score up to a 6 and you have yourself a 1st or 2nd rounder IMO.

Wonder what we would have scored him last year if he had this year's defense?

Saying qb hasnt been a strength since clausen is not giving enough credit to ainge. very good qb. never took a sack. quick release. won some big games as a freshie. had a rough soph campaign but rebounded with stellar numbers his junior and senior seasona.

I go back and forth on Ainge - anyone who'd want to argue that he was a great QB for the Vols is alright in my book.

Statistically, he's there. I just think back to that SECCG vs. LSU where I think putting in a Clausen, Tee Martin, or Peyton Manning gives us the game.

I'll admit that if Erik Ainge was a freshman this year, I'd sure hope the Vols would put him in and play him for 4 years.... so maybe you are right.

Missed the TOTAL DISASTER that Rick Clausen helmed...limited arm that defenses sniffed out by his second year, but a BOWL WIN IS A BOWL WIN IS A BOWL WIN! :peace2:

Plus, he was the last TN QB to to lead the team to a first place finish in the East.

Watch out. You are going to be called a troll for referring to Worley as a 'band-aid." I like your post.
