Small town, 1 hour from Asheville.

I've been to Taylorsville twice in the past 4-5 years. They had a lot of new stuff, mostly chain stores and fast food places, the second time I went. So I guess there is some sort of economic growth going on in the greater Hickory area. It's kind of counter to what I've hear about the economic cratering of the Triad after the tobacco companies settled their lawsuits.
