You can usually find it in the full BCS rankings. Not just the top 25 ones, but the ones where it shows everyone in division 1 ranks overall. Thats just a guess, thats how it works with RPI in basketball. SOS is a big part of it, so I assume the same applies for BCS. I could be wrong 100% wrong though.

We had a top 3 SOS. Period. No ifs ands or buts. Anyone else who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

Hard to believe ours is not number 1, when we played Bama, Auburn, Missouri, and Oregon. Add on Georgia and South Carolina to boot.

Had they stayed 1 (Alabama) and 2 (Oregon). But they ended up with losses to 5 (Alabama) and 12 (Oregon). Loss to 4-8 (#88) Florida was the dagger.

I doubt any other team played 5 of the top 10 teams. There's no way we should be outside of the top 3.

That's what happens when you factor in all 12 games. UT probably played the #1 or #2 toughest schedule this year. When you factor in the cream-puff games of APSU, etc. it brings the overall average way down. Had UT replaced APSU with MTSU (for example) their SOS would be #1.

Bama, Oregon, UF, UGA, USC, Mizzou, Auburn, Vandy....PLEASE!

Agree. It would be good to see how the teams with a higher SOS rating would fair against our schedule. Would they be bowling this year?

IMO -

Totally insane the way these services are calculating SOS. By using year-end ranking, they totally disregard attrition due to injuries, etc. A schedule's strength must be calculated based on ranking at the time two teams played each other. (See Green Bay minus Aaron Rodgers, for an example from the highest level.)

Also, I'm sick of hearing that Cal once played 8 ranked teams in a season and we only had 7. Almost all were around the 20's, except for 1 or 2 highly ranked opponents. Would someone please tell me when in the history of collegiate football has a team ever played 6 teams ranked in the top 11 in the country?

I guess next year we swap Oregon for Oklahoma, Auburn for Ole Miss, and add Utah St. which just lost to Fresno St. in their conference championship game..... :good!:
